Alan Carrs husband Paul Drayton told theres likelihood hell be jailed for drink driving crash

Alan Carr's husband Paul Drayton has been warned he needs to "prepare for prison" after he admitted he was drink driving ahead of his car crash.

The 50 year old made an appearance in court on the morning of Tuesday 23 November, which comes nearly three weeks since his last appearance in court.

The star attended the hearing with his comedian husband Alan, 45, by his side and admitted reversing into a police car while drunk.

Drayton was more than four times the legal limit when he was stopped by police in Horsham, East Sussex.

He was driving a Mitsubishi 4X4 vehicle at the time when he was pulled over.

Drayton had been witnessed swerving along the road when the police stopped him, but the star then crashed into the police vehicle that had parked behind him.

District Judge Amanda Kelly told the star that there is an “overwhelming likelihood” he will be given a sentence behind bars for his actions, as reported by the Evening Standard.

“I make it quite clear the overwhelming likelihood is you will be going to prison”, Brighton Magistrates' Court were told on Tuesday, November 23.

“You have endangered the public by driving around in that way.“

The judge then added Drayton was incredibly lucky he survived his actions and didn’t injure anyone.

“It is an absolute miracle you are here today,” she said. “And that you haven’t killed or maimed any members of the public.”

OK! has contacted a representative for Paul Drayton and Alan Carr for comment.

Earlier this month, Crawley Magistrates’ Court heard Drayton was “swerving from one side of the road to the other” during the incident.

Drayton was charged with driving with 153mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath against a legal limit of 35mcg last month.

The judge adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report and added: “Prepare yourself for a prison sentence.”

Drayton was around three miles from his swanky £2.7 million home that he shares with husband Alan when he was stopped.

The incident took place at around 3pm on Saturday 9 October.
