Alison Hammond’s heartbreak as This Morning star’s mum dies of liver and lung cancer
This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has spoken of her heartbreak after her mum died.
The 45 year old confirmed the news on Friday morning, while sharing images of her mother after her death from liver and lung cancer.
Alison and her family laid her mum to rest in a funeral that was held on Thursday afternoon.
The bubbly star, who is appearing on Celebs Go dating, wrote: “Today I dedicate Valentine’s Day to my beautiful , wonderful Mother Maria who passed away from liver and lung cancer.”
"Yesterday my family and I celebrated her amazing life and laid her to rest in a beautiful ceremony she would have been proud of.
"Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that your ok and with God in Heaven now. I will always remember you and try and make you proud. I love you mum."

Alison added on Twitter: "RIP my best friend and Living Angel please come to my dreams."
Alison had never publicly announced details of her mum’s health, although she did post a picture of her in a hospital bed smiling.
Her ITV colleague Sharon Marshall tweeted a row of red love hearts, adding: "Love you darling Ali."
Last year Alison told OK! magazine how her mum was a pivotal part of Christmas day and that she spent the festive season with her.
She said: ”I’ll be honest, I just do the vegetables and gravy because I can't be bothered.
“My mum gets up at like 2am to cook a turkey. It's crazy. I'm not doing that. I need my beauty sleep!
"[My favourite part of Christmas is] waking up and seeing my son Aiden's face when he sees all the presents. He's asked for Xbox games and a new phone.
"We all want to update all the time, but until it's broken he won't be getting a new one. However, Santa steps in, buys him what he wants and ruins everything.
“He does my head in! Also, watching films like The Sound Of Music and Miracle On [pauses] … is it 34th? I don't know what it is. Cut that bit out, and just say it's my favourite."
