David Beckham celebrates 21 years of marriage to Victoria with epic montage

David and Victoria Beckham have been together for over two decades, have built a showbiz empire and welcomed four children together.

And it turns out we have a little black catsuit to thank for their union.

David, 45, has marked 21 years of marriage to Victoria by sharing a brilliant montage of their relationship, and recalled the first time he laid eyes on the star.

The Manchester United legend wrote on Instagram: ‘Well about 23 years ago I was sat in a room with Gary Neville and the spice girls were on the TV and I turned around to him and said “ohhhh I like that one in the little black catsuit” ?.

‘Who would have thought that all these years later we are celebrating 21 years of marriage and have 4 of the most beautiful and perfect kids.. Thank you & Happy Anniversary I Love You ♥️ @victoriabeckham.’

It seems the catsuit David was referring to was the one Victoria wore in the 1996 video for the Spice Girls’ Say You’ll Be There, as he soundtracked his montage with the pop bop and used clips of his wife in the skintight black catsuit.

The footballler’s video included pictures and videos of him and Victoria dancing on their wedding day in their iconic matching purple outfits, holidaying together, and posing with their kids – Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and eight-year-old Harper.

While the loved-up selfies were great, our personal highlight has to be Posh and Becks on the red carpet in matching leather outfits.

The 90s, what an era.

Victoria Adams, as she was known then, met David in early 1997 at a charity football match, and the pair began dating soon after, becoming a showbiz phenomenon.

The pair got engaged the following year and tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland on 4 July 1999, with Gary Neville acting as Becks’ best man.

Their infamous wedding saw David and Victoria sitting on golden thrones, with Posh Spice even wearing a diamond crown.

And 21 years on, Posh and Becks are still going strong, with the couple even renewing their vows in 2017.

Speaking on Desert Island Discs, David revealed: ‘We did throw a lot at (our first wedding). We have renewed our vows since then and it was a lot more private, there was about six people there in our house.’

And he joked about their initial lavish wedding, saying of their statement outfits: ‘That was pretty bold. Victoria’s was pretty nice. Mine, I’m like what was I thinking? I even had a top hat in purple. What was I thinking?’

Speaking about their relationship, David pinned the success of their marriage on the strength of their love and the values they inherited from their parents.

The president of Inter Miami CF said: Of course you make mistakes over the years, and we all know marriage is difficult at times but it’s about working through it.

‘Whenever we’ve come up against tough times we know each other better than anyone knows us, so we talk.’

‘We stay together because we love each other, and because we have four wonderful children.’
