Emmerdales Charley Webb hits back as body shamers call her ’frighteningly thin

Charley Webb celebrates with friends at Bank Holiday BBQ

Charley Webb, 35, shut down social media users after she showcased her gym-honed figure over the weekend.

The former Emmerdale actress shared a video clip of herself and a friend enjoying the bank holiday, but her post was soon overwhelmed by remarks from worried fans.

Charley had been dancing to Beyoncé’s hit Drunk In Love as she celebrated the “chaos” of having a few days off while the weather was nice.

However, despite appearing to enjoy herself and showcasing her best dance moves, Charley’s fans appeared more concerned by her weight.

The Debbie Dingle star rocked a long black sweater paired with black tights and a pair of tan coloured shoes, as she pretended to sing into a hairbrush, while her brunette tresses were swept into a bun.

One person commented: “Looks like those legs could snap any minute.”

While a second added: “Charley you are gorgeous..but you’re all skin and bone.”

“Fab but frighteningly thin,” claimed a third.

However, others were quick to defend the star in the comments section.

One replied: “Like my nanna used to say if you’ve got nowt nice to say then keep your trap shut.”

They continued: “Looks like @miss_charleywebb is having a ton of fun and loving life with her family and friends to me.”

A second commented: “So… Posts a video having fun, she’s ‘too thin’; posts ads, too many ads; potentially puts weight on, must be pregnant; pics of kids, shouldn’t expose them; no pics, ‘where’ve you gone’!! Is it any wonder people feel they can do no right?”

Charley appeared to agree with this comment, hitting back at the criticism, as she replied: “Innit,” alongside a peace emoji.

It comes as Charley took to Instagram last week to share that she’s been terribly unwell, posting a photo from bed and writing: “I’ve been ill since Sunday. The nausea was so bad and I was absolutely wiped out.

“It went away and then came back. Anyone else had this?” she asked, alongside a photo of herself covering her face with her hand.

The mum-of-three’s fans were quick to reassure her she’s not alone, with her sharing a second story, captioned: “OMG so many of you have head whatever this is. I’ve not actually been sick once, just the feeling.”(sic)

She shared a third update, after the school run, telling fans she was back in bed and “thrilled to be there”.

Charley added that her son Ace, whom she shares with husband Matthew Wolfenden, goes to nursery on a Friday, something she called “ideal”.
