Gwyneth Paltrow shares rare picture of both Apple and Moses on Thanksgiving

Gwyneth Paltrow shared a rare picture of her two children together as they remembered her late father on Thanksgiving.

The Avengers star is mum to Apple, 16, and Moses, 14, with her ex-husband Chris Martin, and while she has shared pictures of both teens on social media, she has rarely posted full family pictures.

This year, Thanksgiving fell on what would have been Bruce Paltrow’s 77th birthday, and Gwyneth’s kids accompanied her to his resting place to pay their respects.

The picture showed the family standing next to a tree, with Moses standing on a bench, wearing a red sweatshirt and holding their dog on a leash.

Apple, dressed in a puffer jacket and jeans, looked strikingly like her mother, who was wearing a padded coat and wellies as she put one leg up on the bench and linked arms with her daughter.

The 48-year-old actress captioned the picture: ‘On this November 26th, I was able to visit my fathers resting place (on his birthday) with these two loves of my life.

‘Happy thanksgiving. Life has incredible highs and lows. Perhaps feeling it all at the same time is the art.’

Friends and followers wished Gwyneth a happy Thanksgiving, as well as remarking on how beautiful her children are.

Film director and producer Bruce was married to Blythe Danner up until the time of his death and shared Gwyneth and Jake, 45, with the actress.

He died on October 3, 2002, while celebrating Gwyneth’s 30th birthday in Rome.

Paltrow’s cause of death was due to complications from oral cancer, which he had been suffering from for several years, and pneumonia.

According to Blythe Danner, Chris Martin wrote the Coldplay song Fix You for Gwyneth, saying: ‘Well, he wrote Fix You for Gwyneth because Bruce had just died. Chris didn’t get to meet Bruce … he wrote that for Gwyneth, for Bruce.’

Gwyneth married Chris in December 2003, and welcomed their first child the following year.

However, in 2014, they confirmed they had separated in that infamous ‘conscious uncoupling’ statement, with Gwyneth going on to marry Glee producer Brad Falchuk and Chris dating Dakota Johnson.

Despite the split, the exes are very close and the family often holidays together, but Gwyneth admitted that co-parenting can still be difficult.

Speaking to Drew Barrymore, the Oscar winner said: ‘Chris and I committed to putting them first and it’s harder than it looks, because some days you really don’t want to be with the person that you’re getting a divorce from. But if you’re committed to doing family dinner, then you do it.

‘You take a deep breath and you look the person in the eye and you remember your pact and you smile and you hug and you make a joke and you just re-commit to this new relationship that you are trying to foster.

‘You’re ending a marriage, but you’re still in a family. That’s how it will be forever. Some days it’s not as good as it looks, we also have good days and bad days. But it’s driving towards the same purpose of unity and love and what’s best for them.

‘We have this idea that just because we break up, we can’t love the things about the person any more that we loved and that’s not true.’
