Helen Skelton risks bumping into ex Richie Myler as she presents at rugby match

Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton risked running into her ex husband Richie Myler on Saturday, as she took on the task of commentating at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, where his team the Leeds Rhino were playing.

The Leeds based rugby team took on Catalans Dragons on Saturday afternoon, where they spectacularly put an end to the five game winning streak held by their rivals, as Leeds won the match 32-22.

Among the players to score a try, was Richie Myler himself, which could potentially have proven awkward for Helen had she not been a consummate professional.

However, thankfully the Strictly Come Dancing finalist barely batted an eyelid as she got stuck into her presenting duties alongside co-host Adam Hills, who fans may best recognise from Channel 4 show The Last Leg.

Dressed in a chic but casual stone coloured jumpsuit, Helen, 39, looked sensational as she teamed her spring fashion look with a pair of matching cream boots and a camel coat.

Her finished look was also tied together by her blonde locks worn in loose waves, while a subtle but chic makeup look completed her ensemble.

Since joining the Super League Rugby presenting team in 2022, Helen has proven to be a firm hit with fans due to her bubbly personality, but also quickly earned the favour of viewers with her keen interest in Rugby and knowledgeable insight into the sport.


Helen was married to professional rugby player Richie Myler for 9 years before the pair went their separate ways in 2022.

Throughout the course of their relationship Helen cheered Richie on as he played for numerous high profile teams, including the England national rugby league team, the Catalans Dragons, and even the Leeds Rhinos.

However, in April 2022, Helen revealed on Instagram that she and Richie had decided to call time on their relationship, just four months after she had given birth to their third child together.


“Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple,” she wrote on Instagram. “He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”

Richie later revealed he and his new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of Leeds Rhinos owner Andrew Thirkill, were expecting their first child together.
