Holly Willoughby disappears from This Morning and Phillip presents alone amid feud
Holly Willoughby has disappeared from today's This Morning, leaving co-host Phillip Schofield to present the last segment of the show alone.
Earlier in the show, Holly, 42, shared that she would be leaving the ITV studio at 12pm, half an hour before the show finishes, in order to head to Buckingham Palace, where she will be joining King Charles to congratulate the winners of the Prince's Trust Awards.
The annual event recognises young people who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life and had a positive impact on their local community.
She said: "I put my posh dress on today because later on this afternoon I am heading to Buckingham Palace and there the King will be, and we get to introduce the award winners to the King so he can say well done, which is all quite exciting isn’t it?”
Phillip, 61, replied with: "So you are off mid day-ish and I am holding the fort", before Holly responded with a “thank you”.
Holly attended The Prince's Trust Awards on Tuesday evening, while Phil was nowhere to be seen even though he is an ambassador for The Prince's Trust.
Phillip Schofield’s website states: “Outside of work, Phillip is an Ambassador for the charity The Prince's Trust, dedicating time to further the work of supporting vulnerable young people in the UK.”
It comes as Holly and Phil are said to have had a falling out and are "barely speaking" to one another off-camera, despite having previously been close friends.
After Monday's This Morning, viewers were quick to label the duo "fake" leading to ITV bosses reportedly having a so-called “crisis talks” about their future on the show.
After reports of the pair’s relationship coming under strain, last week, Phillip said in a statement to The Sun that Holly is his “rock”.
He added: “We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.
“Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her. The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.”
Phillip took pre-planned leave from the show around his brother’s sex abuse trial at Exeter Crown Court last month.
In April, Holly also took time off from the ITV morning programme due to having the painful rash shingles, which is caused by the same virus as chickenpox.
