Mama Odie is officially coming to the Bayou at Disneyland and Walt Disney World!

It was just revealed that The Princess and The Frog character will indeed be a part of the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure overhaul of Splash Mountain at the Disney Parks.

Jenifer Lewis, who voiced Mama Odie in the movie, will once again reprise her role as the character.

In addition, the closing date for Splash Mountain at Disneyland was also just revealed.

The popular attraction at the Anaheim theme park will officially close down starting May 31, 2023 to begin the renovations for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla, closed down back in January. Both coasts will reopen in 2024 with the new version.

In the new version, Mama Odie will joke with guests as they go along their journey, after she shows a special display of her magic.

“The two-hundred-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother, with her eccentric belongings and ‘seeing eye snake,’ Juju, is comically eccentric, yet wise and all-knowing, throughout the adventure,” Disney Parks Blog shares.

In addition to Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, other returning actors and characters include Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis, and of course Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.

There will also be brand new characters with “distinct names and personalities,” dozens of new audio-animatronics, lots of critters, new, original music, the scent of beignets and more familiar faces from the film including Eudora, Charlotte, “Big Daddy,” the King and Queen of Maldonia and Prince Ralphie.

If you missed it, a real life Tiana’s Palace will also be opening up at Disneyland in 2023. Find out more here!
