Josephine Jobert plays DS Florence Cassell in the BBC’s hit crime drama Death In Paradise. However, fans have been left wondering what will happen next to her character in the show after last night’s episode.
As viewers will recall, Florence was left struggling throughout the episode about what decision to make on a new job offer.
The detective had been asked by Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (played by Don Warrington) to head a drug-trafficking case.
This would see her moving away from Saint Marie to Jamaica for the undercover role.
Florence was conflicted about whether to take the job, as she revealed her struggle was based around her fiance’s death back in season eight.
By the end of the episode, the detective had a chat with DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) who convinced her to take the job.
However, viewers have now been left wondering if her exit from the island is permanent or not.
Some have also been wondering whether this new job could put Florence in serious danger.
Taking to her Instagram stories earlier this morning, Josephine shared some insight on the storyline.
She posted a picture of her in her dressing room as she addressed the dramatic twist.
Alongside her snap, she penned: “Thank you for watching yesterday’s episode.
“I’m glad you liked it!
“So many questions about what’s going to happen to Florence…
“I wish I could tell you… but I can’t!”
She finished the message with a winking face emoji to her followers.
The trailer for next week’s episode seemingly shows that Josephine will still be in the series.
She’s undercover as a suspect aims a gun at her.
However, Neville seems concerned as the Commissioner teases a “development”.
He asks: “Is Florence alright? What if someone she knows sees her?”
The trailer ends as a gunshot goes off and Neville cries, “No, no, no!”
Death in Paradise airs on BBC One on Fridays at 9pm.
