Katie Price ‘in wheelchair for another six months’ after breaking both feet
Katie Price is set to be wheelchair bound for a further six months, according to reports.
The 42-year-old broke both of her feet when she jumped off a wall at a theme park while on holiday in Turkey with boyfriend Carl Woods and her children.
She subsequently underwent a six-hour surgery in August, and was told by doctors she had ‘life-changing injuries’. Since then she’s been using a wheelchair to get around, and was also seen trying out mobility scooters.
Katie is now said to have been told she will not be able to walk again until April 2021, however, the star is allegedly relieved by the news, as she will have a date to look forward to for when she’ll finally be able to get back on her feet.
‘This has been the most amazing news ever for Katie – but she’s nervous too, as the thought of being able to stand on her feet again is mind-boggling,’ an insider told The Sun.
‘She says she’s forgotten what it feels like, as her feet are literally held together with metal pins.
‘For Katie, it will feel like a toddler learning to take her first steps, but it’s much sooner than she thought as she was told by doctors that she could be in a wheelchair for a whole year after the operation.’
A rep for Katie further confirmed to Metro.co.uk: ‘Katie is on track with her recovery and we have everything crossed she will be back up on her feet and starting the next leg of her rehabilitation – learning to walk again.’
The former glamour model has not let her injuries get in the way of her having fun, and last week, she was able to enjoy a ride at Alton Towers with Carl.
Katie explained in a video uploaded to her YouTube channel that she was at first disappointed to discover she was not allowed on any of the rides due to her injuries.
‘I thought I’d be able to at least go on something,’ she said. I think they’re just being extra cautious, I don’t know if it’s because it’s me or what.
‘I can’t even go on the teacups. I mean, how’s me going on a teacup a problem?
‘I love Alton Towers, it’s one of my favourite places to go but it’s not like… the kids can’t go on everything now and it’s not nice for me just to stare at rides I can’t go on.’
In the end, it looks like Katie was able to charm the staff, as Carl was later seen carrying Katie into a teacup-style ride.
The two were seen alongside Katie’s daughter Princess, 13, and her pal, as they threw their hands in the air while the ride spun around.
And a few weeks earlier, Katie even attended the 10th anniversary celebrations for Shaka Zulu in London while in her wheelchair.
