Kim Kardashian opens up on ‘staying silent for my kids’ during divorce

The Kardashians: Trailer for season 3 to air on Disney+

Kim Kardashian, 42, and Kanye West, 45, were one of the most famous A-list couples in 2014 when they tied the knot after three years together.

Since then, the pair welcomed four children, North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, three, before splitting in early 2021, with Kim officially filing for divorce in February of that year.

While fans were given a front-row seat to the subsequent fallout between Kim and Kanye in real-time, the SKIMS mogul stayed relatively quiet throughout the divorce proceedings.

However, a new trailer for the upcoming season of The Kardashians reveals a bombshell behind-the-scenes take on Kim’s silence.

In the clip, Kim declared that “things change really fast”, before sharing in an emotional sit-down confessional: “He had made up the most insane narrative. We stay silent through all the lies, for my kids.”

The teary-eyed businesswoman was also seen breaking down in a different part of the trailer, confiding in her sister Khloe that she was “not okay”.

Kim has previously opened up about co-parenting with Kanye, describing it as “f**king hard” on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast.

The socialite explained that she “had the best memories” with her own father growing up and “that’s what I would want” for her own children.

She noted that she refuses to “bash” Kanye in front of the children, declaring that one day “they’ll thank me and I’ll privately answer anything that they want to know. It’s not my place anymore to jump in.”

Kim and Kanye’s divorce proceedings were finalised in November last year with the former couple having “equal access” to their four children.

However, in the year leading up to this conclusion, Kim faced waves of criticism from her former husband in the public eye.

Just a month before the proceedings were finalised, Kanye took to Instagram claiming that Kim refused to let him have any input on which school their children go to.

On April 18 the rapper deactivated his Instagram account without much explanation after posting a screenshot of the deactivation page.

The musician was briefly banned from the social media site in 2022 after violating the platform’s policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment.

Following their public split, Kim began dating Pete Davidson and although their romance only lasted a brief nine months the comedian was also targeted online by Kanye multiple times.
