Leona Lewis cradles daughter Carmel in beautiful pictures: A month of you, my love

Leona Lewis has gushed about about her first month as a mother in a new post.

The singer, 37, welcomed her first child Carmel last month in July with her husband Dennis Jauch.

Leona then shared a snap of her baby being wrapped to her body in a wrap baby carrier, writing on Instagram: "A month with you my love."

She also posted a picture of her daughter's hand latching onto her finger, as well as one of her sleeping in her baby bed.

Many of Leona's 744,000 followers couldn't help but take to comment section.

One person said: "Congratulations beautiful lady. Much love to you all. You deserve every happiness."

A second commented: "Awwww my heart is gushing here! Precious moments of mother & daughter."

"Dying to see if Carmel is your twin or Denis but I respect your privacy," another wrote, in reference to the fact Leona always keeps the baby's face covered in snaps.

Others added: "Congratulations to you both. Beautiful moments," "Beautiful Leona, a love like no other. You're blessed" and "Stunning mother and baby."

Leona also shared a snap of her husband Dennis enjoying a cuddle with Carmel.

Leona first met her husband back in 2010 when he was performing as a backup singer for her tour.

They then got engaged in 2018 and tied the knot the following year.

Back in 2021 before welcoming a child of her own, Leona opened up about her duties of being a godmother to a pal's baby.

She told The Guardian: "The day my goddaughter was christened; one of my best friend’s first child. It was love-filled and emotional. There’s this picture of me holding her tightly.

"It was so special. I’m a godmother three times over – with no kids of my own, everyone gives me that responsibility."

Leona rose to fame after winning the 2006 series of The X Factor.

Speaking about her choice of music and how she relaxes, she added: "Reggae, always, just like with my family. It puts me in a laid-back mood, makes me feel safe with nostalgia. In LA I’m far from home, so reggae is comforting. Just like Bob Marley said: everything’s gonna be all right.

"I love to be in nature, so I take long walks through the canyons. The week is manic; I cherish switching off. Grandma was very Christian – it was her day of God. In my own way, I treat Sundays as sacred."
