Love Island fans label Kai and Olivia worst pairing in show history after cheeky kiss

Love Island 2023 fans have labelled Kai Fagan and Olivia Hawkins as the "worst pairing in show history" after the pair got close and intimate for a steamy kiss on the terrace.

Friday night's episode saw Maya Jama, 28, make an epic return to the villa for the recoupling, where she revealed the girls will be forced to choose two boys – out of Kai, Aaron Waters and Spencer Wilks – to leave the villa for good.

But ahead of the shock announcement, fans were expressing their thoughts over the new romance between Kai, 24, and Olivia, 27, after the singletons cosied up for a snog outside of a challenge.

One wrote: "Kai and Olivia are the worst couple I've ever seen #loveisland," before another tweeted: "Olivia and kai…. that was some of the worst acting i’ve seen on this show … #loveisland."

A third shared: "Kai and Olivia are probs one of the worst Love Island couples in the shows history just everything about them is embarrassing #LoveIsland."

And a fourth agreed while writing: "Kai and Olivia literally one of the worst pairings in the history of this show. Get them OUT #LoveIsland."

The kiss came out of nowhere in the episode, which occurred after they spoke about the kissing challenge, with Olivia saying: "I was nervous to kiss you in the challenge."

Kai then replied: "Were you? I actually didn't want you to kiss me in the challenge," before Olivia asked: "Why?"

The star then admitted to her: "I'd prefer to save it for a proper kiss," to which Liv flirted further: "What, you want to kiss me out of a challenge."

"Yeah I want to kiss you out of a challenge," the PE teacher shared, which then saw the pair have a passionate kiss.

While Kai and Olivia's feelings for each other seem to be developing, former islander Danica Taylor revealed that Kai is "playing a game".

Danica told OK!: "Kai knows Olivia's an easy one to go for, and he probably remembers that she was attracted to him."

When asked where this could leave Olivia, Danica replied: "I think, because Olivia has gone through it, because she gets quite emotional quite quickly, she shows that she's quite emotionally involved with the [Love Island] experience.

"I feel like she could be slightly blindsided."

In tonight's episode, Ron Hall, 25, Will Young, 23, Shaq Muhammed, 24, and Tom Clare, 23, were saved – but Maya announced that Kai, Spencer, 24, and Aaron, 24, will be up for elimination depending on the girls' choice, which will be revealed on Sunday.

Following Maya's announcement, Kai, Spencer, and Aaron stood in front of the rest of their islanders as the nation awaits the result of the two boys who will be packing their bags on Sunday.

Love Island continues every weeknight and on Sundays at 9pm on ITV2
