Former Love Island star Theo Campbell faced his past in a new video as he popped the cork on a champagne bottle while teaching his fans about eye safety.

After losing sight in his right eye after being hit by a champagne cork in Ibiza back in August 2019, the star stood topless two years later to educate his fans.

He says to the camera: "This is how you pop champagne safely, correctly, right.

"What you need first is eyewear – I don't have safety goggles but I have got glasses.

"I had glasses last time but I'd taken them off."

He unwrapped the foil from the bottle as he continued: "I'll be aiming up in the air right?

"Take the shelling off, then we untwist this, then we pop it and we spray it."

He proceeded to spray his friends with the drink after successfully popping the cork.

Along with the video he added the hashtags “#drinkresponsibly” and “#eyesafety,”

Fans were impressed that Theo had dared to pop a cork after his injury, with one calling him a “legend” and another saying: "Must have took a lot of courage to do that, enjoy."

Theo was rushed to hospital in 2019 and underwent surgery twice after his eye “split in half” after being struck with the champagne cork.

Theo shared what had happened in a post of himself wearing an eye patch soon after.

He said: “So yeah basically two eye surgeries later, after a really unfortunate accident, I’ve lost all vision in my right eye as it got split in half.

"Who would have thought a champagne cork would be the end of me.”

It comes after Theo opened up about becoming a father, after his baby boy Aries' arrival in February.

The 29 year old, who surprised fans with the news after keeping it a secret for months, opened up on the shock of finding himself in the new role of being a dad as he spoke to Bobby Norris and Brooke Odun on Access All Areas, FUBAR Radio.

Theo explained that he "wasn't expecting it at first" and originally planned on waiting until he was in his mid-30s to start a family.

"I’ve always said, I was going to wait until I was 35, 36 and then just knock out three in a row," he shared.

"But it's not as scary as I thought. I thought it was the hardest thing in the world, the scariest thing, the biggest thing. It is the biggest thing, but it's not that hard. It's not that scary, you know?”

Theo's son lives in Wales with his influencer mum Sapphire Yhnell and the star travels every Sunday to spend the first half of the week with his little boy before coming back up to London to run his tattoo shop.

“My baby, he lives in Wales and I live in London. So on Sunday’s I have to travel 130 miles, about two hours," he said, before adding: “I don’t have a life! I’m always getting invited places. My life now, like today, there’s always something on the cusp. I’m there [his tattoo shop] all the time, I do Wednesday to Sunday.”
