Mark Labbett dating TV presenter after splitting from his wife

The Chase star Mark Labbett, who is best known for his alter-ego The Beast, is said to have moved on from his marriage and is now dating GB News presenter Hayley Palmer, who is 16 years his junior.

Sources claim the 57-year-old wooed the entertainment correspondent on a string of dates after being “friends for some time”.

It has been reported the pair went public with their romance this week by enjoying a date on the beach in Portsmouth.

The news comes three years after Mark ended his seven-year marriage to nurse Katie.

A source told The Sun: “It is very early days but Mark and Hayley are having a really good time together.

“They have been friends for some time and recently things developed into something more.

“Mark and Hayley share similar interests and have a lot of fun together.

“Mark and Hayley have kept things low key but this week they headed out on a day-date.”

Hayley is a television presenter who hosts music shows At Home With Hayley and Saturday Night With Hayley Palmer.

She is also an entertainment correspondent for GB News and it is claimed she was introduced to Mark through work.

The Chase star previously revealed he ended his marriage to his wife Katie in 2020.

He blamed the 27-year age gap between them and said the lockdown had added to their marital woes.

It was later revealed the pair, who have a son together, were in an open relationship towards the end of their marriage as Mark agreed to try anything to make it work.

Following their split, Mark told The Sun: “All that matters is what is best for our son.”

The ITV favourite previously opened up about the thrills of single life, including the ability to be selfish and not to have to take his partner’s needs into account.

“As a couple of my friends pointed out, the big challenge for me is learning to adapt with being with someone else!” he previously joked on Loose Women.

“I had been a single man for a long while [when I met Katie] so I was getting used to the idea of being on my own,” he added.

“Especially as a bachelor, we can get pretty selfish, you get used to doing what you want to do all of the time.”
