Mark Wright flooded with praise from celebrity friends as he opens up on lump removal

Mark Wright has been praised by his celebrity pals in the wake ofhis candid post about undergoing surgeryto have a lump under his arm removed.

Mark took to Instagram on Wednesday 8 December where he shared a photograph of the lump on his armpit, followed by a picture of himself from a hospital bed.

Initially the lump had been dismissed as a “fatty lump” by his doctor, but the 34 year old became increasingly more concerned about it when the lump continued to grow.

After consulting with other specialists, Mark was advised to have the lump removed as it had turned into a benign tumour which doctors were concerned could potentially turn cancerous.

After sharing his honest health update, Mark has been inundated with support by his friends who applauded the radio host for being so candid, while others wished him a speedy recovery.

Paddy McGuinness wrote: “Back on the mend now son,” while former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas penned: “Glad all is well bro”.

American actor Greg Sulkin also commented: “Wish you better mate x”.

Several others echoed similar sentiments.

Model Kelly Brook wrote: “B***dy Hell Mark! Hope you get better soon! Thank god you had it removed."

American actor and TV host Mario Lopez added: “Glad you’re alright man!,” as TOWIE’s Lydia Bright said: “Thank goodness you followed this up and all is well”.

Mark’s non-celebrity followers also expressed their gratitude at him sharing his news.

Someone said: “Thank you for sharing as it will raise more awareness to men who don’t usually check for lumps etc. Rest and feel better soon”.

Another wrote: “Ahhhhh well done mark!!!! you will help so many by doing this. We all need reminding to check ourselves and act if we think something isn’t quite right”.

Part of Mark’s meaningful post read: “Ok, it’s been a tough call whether or not to speak about this.

"One part of me wants to keep something like this private and the other part is thinking, if I can help/potentially save 1 person, well…. this is the right thing to do.

"So here goes. I discovered a lump in my breast/armpit area. Not very big, but enough to cause concern and to be cautious enough to get it checked.

"I saw a doctor who passed it on as “a fatty lump that doesn’t need any treatment” so I just left it.

"After some time the lump grew and began to bother me. I am someone that when it comes to life in general, I leave no stone unturned. When it involves health, this idiom quadruples."

He went on: "I saw another specialist who happens to be a breast consultant for a second opinion.

"He was certain after seeing an ultrasound scan that it was a LIPOMA (a BENIGN soft tissue tumour) however with it being rather large, he had a tiny bit of concern that it has/could turn in to a SARCOMA (a cancerous malignant tumour) However he was not 100% either way so to be more sure I had an MRI.

"From the result of the MRI, still this consultant did not want to rule out the worst because of the speed and the size of the growth.”

The former TOWIE star concluded the post encouraging his 1.8m million followers to always have something checked out if they think something’s not right.
