Martin Lewis accidentally swears on This Morning

‘These s**tes are outrageous!’ Martin Lewis accidentally swears on This Morning during rant about online scammers and illegal websites

He regularly appears on ITV to offer money advice.

And on Thursday, Martin Lewis accidentally swore during an appearance on This Morning as he suffered a slip of the tongue during a rant about online scammers and illegal websites.

The Manchester-born finance guru, 48, tripped up over the word ‘sites’ and instead fumed about illegal ‘sh**es’ – much to the amusement of hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Martin said: ‘Have you been scammed? Legally, probably not. Morally certainly, in my view – the ITV lawyers might not like me saying that…

‘But, I think these s**tes are outrageous that’s why I call them shysters. Quasi-legal. That’s not a swear-word by the way, so we’re fine!’ insisted the money expert.

As Phil mumbled under his breath and started to giggle, Martin asked: ‘What was that?’ to which Phil and Holly insisted: ‘Don’t worry, don’t worry’ as they attempted to move on from the gaffe.

Following his live on-air appearance, Martin took to Twitter to ask his followers what had happened.

He tweeted: ‘Apparently according to Philip I swore on @thismorning just now. Yet I have no idea what I said.’

Fans were quick to point out his slip of the tongue, while many others hadn’t even noticed the error.

This Morning also suffered a technical gaffe during Thursday’s show, with recurring sound issues.

Coming back after an ad break, Holly began talking but viewers couldn’t hear her until partway through.

Soon after, the Loose Women panellists came on to give a preview of what was coming up on their show.

While Charlene White gave viewers the low-down, Holly could be heard speaking, telling her studio director that she ‘heard herself back in my ear earlier’ – an interaction not meant to be aired.

It’s not the first time Martin Lewis has sworn on live TV. He apologised to viewers for saying ‘bl**dy’ during a live segment of This Morning last March.

The financial journalist appeared in a segment where he gave advice to self-employed people whose income was impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to hosts Holly and Phillip Martin said: ‘I am hearing from the top and I am working bl**dy hard on this.
