Megan Thee Stallion Earns Spot On Time’s List Of 100 Most Influential People

Megan Thee Stallion has been named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2020.

The 25-year-old rapper was named in the “Pioneers” category that also includes Tomi Adeyemi and Maya Moore among others.

In article she wrote in the special issue of Time, Academy Award-nominated actor Taraji P. Henson described Megan as “the epitome of tenacity.”

“She’s lost much of her family—her mother, her father, her grandmother—yet she is the epitome of tenacity, of pulling herself up by her bootstraps,” Henson wrote.

She added, “I don’t like to put the stigma of the word strong on Black women because I think it dehumanizes us, but she has strength — strength through vulnerability.”

Born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, the singer became a platinum-selling artist with the viral hit “Hot Girl Summer” and recently scored No. 1 hits with “Savage” and “WAP.”

Singers such as Selena Gomez, Halsey and Jennifer Hudson found a place in the “Artists” category of the Time 100 list.
