Rachel Riley, 35, has spoken out on a funny moment from yesterday’s episode of Countdown. The presenter was left struggling to conceal her giggles after a cheeky anagram combination appeared on the board during Countdown’s famous conundrum challenge.
The Channel 4 star could be seen smirking after placing letters on the board that spelt out “Molepis”.
Rachel was promptly called out on stifling her laughter at the awkward letter combination, as a fan took to Twitter to ask her about it.
Twitter user RachelRileyFC asked: “Find something funny today @RachelRileyRR?!”
Addressing the matter, Rachel mischievously acknowledged her blunder, writing back in view of her 691,000 followers: “Ain’t nothing remotely funny about MOLE PIS…”
Rachel added a gritted teeth and laughing face emoji to her post, revealing she still couldn’t get over the witty moment.
Fans took to the comments section of Rachel’s tweet to share their thoughts on the mishap.
Dave Tait penned: “Saw this today and saw the smile on your face @RachelRileyRR imagine that on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown.”
Shaz quipped: “Isnt that a drink on @imacelebrity?”
Stanners Stanton commented: “Definitely worth making a mountain out of…”
Dave Sharpe added: “I’m snickering anyway.”
It comes after Rachel joked that she couldn’t help but picture every viewer hollering at her from behind their TV screens over another awkward on-air moment earlier this month.
Laughing at the blunder, she playfully posted on her Twitter account: “When you know that every viewer is shouting the same word at the screen!”

Rachel was responding to a viewer, named Ryan, who had shared a snap of her putting on a wry smile after the letters, “N, C, T, U” were placed on the Countdown board.
Elsewhere, Rachel opened up on working with new Countdown host Anne Robinson, 77, amid rumours of a feud between the pair.
The former Weakest Link presenter replaced Nick Hewer who stepped down from the role earlier this year.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Rachel said: “She found her feet very quickly and soon made the show her own.
“She’s comfortable bantering with the contestants.”
The Channel 4 star, who recently welcomed her second daughter, Noa, with husband Pasha Kovalev, went on: “She asks them a lot of questions and we get to hear from them a lot more.
“She’s called out some comedians and you can tell they’re up for a fight. They come in with their lines prepared. She’s not known for suffering fools gladly.”
When asked if she is “more cuddly” off-screen, the star replied: “I don’t think anyone would describe Anne as cuddly.”
