Piers Morgan, 55, has taken aim at Prime Minister Boris Johnson, after he said he was “deeply sorry” and “will learn lessons” as the UK passed 100,000 coronavirus deaths. The Good Morning Britain host accused the PM of “lying” when he said that he had done everything in his power to minimise the “loss of life” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Piers tweeted in view of his seven million followers: “BREAKING: Boris Johnson says he’s ‘deeply sorry’ for the shocking UK covid death toll & insists, ‘we truly did everything we could and continue to do everything we can to minimise loss of life.’
“But that’s a lie. He didn’t. He avoided doing what he should have done, time & again.” (sic)
