Stacey Dooley, 34, has admitted she was left overwhelmed after meeting Adrian Dunbar. She revealed she had swooned after the Line of Duty star when she appeared on stage to present an award.

Stacey was presenting the Entertainment Programme accolade to the nominees with Vick Hope.

She took the stage admitting she was a bit flustered with the news.

Stacey said: “I have just played it totally uncool

“I’ve just met the gaffer backstage and now I’m all out of sort.

“So I need to just shake it off a little.”

Her co-presenter and radio presenter Vick then probed her on her reaction.

She remarked: “You’ve been deeply in love for some time, haven’t you?”

Stacey then admitted: “I love Adrian.”

The duo then presented the award to Life and Rhymes.

The show triumphed over Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Strictly Come Dancing and the Masked Singer.

Earlier in the evening, Stacey and Vick were in charge of hosting the red carpet for the glitzy award show.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star dressed in a little black dress, showing off her toned legs.

She paired the look with black eyeshadow and black nail polish.

Stacey wore her tresses in curls to complete her red carpet turn.

The BAFTAs took place in person this year with the stars social distancing in the auditorium.

While seated, the stars all also donned their masks.

A number of guests also appeared virtually at the awards ceremony as well.

However, not everyone was a fan of the format of the series with Piers tweeting how it was “unwatchable”.

He penned in view of his 7.9 million followers: “This #BAFTAs is unwatchable, like every other awards show since the pandemic started.”

The BAFTAs is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
