Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, 52, has branded claims that she and David Schimmer, 54, have been dating “bizarre”. Following the Friends Reunion in May, romance rumours between the pair were sparked when they finally admitted they had romantic feelings for each other while filming the show’s early series. However, the Just Go With It actress has now shot down claims that she and David have been dating, revealing that he’s more like a “brother” to her.
Like, really? That’s my brother!
Jen, who plays Rachel Green in the hit series, said that she “couldn’t believe” the romance rumours surrounding her and her co-star.
Addressing the claims, the actress said: “That was bizarre.
“I could not believe that, actually.”
The star explained that she sees David as more of a family member than a potential love interest.
“Like, really? That’s my brother! But I understand it, though,” Jen continued.
“It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies for dreams to come true,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
The stars, who played on and off lovers on-screen over a decade, were never together in real life.
But early last month, it was reported that the two A-Listers had been “growing close again” after the reunion “stirred up feelings”.
A source claimed David flew across the country to visit Jennifer after they both openly discussed their real-life chemistry earlier in the year.
An insider told Closer magazine: “After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there.
“They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA.”
Jennifer and David played Ross and Rachel for a decade, but only recently revealed their real-life chemistry.
However, the pair admitted that the timing was never right for them to pursue a romance together, as one of them was always in a relationship.
Following the reunion, the pair, who are both currently believed to be single, were spotted cosying up together on set.
Appearing on the Reunion show, David, who plays Ross Geller in the show, told host James Corden how he felt about his glamorous co-star during the filming of the show.
David then explained: “Yeah, the first season we – I had a major crush on Jen.”
The Morning Show actress revealed: “It was reciprocated.”
David continued: “At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that boundary.”
The pair have both been married before, with Jennifer previously tying the knot with two famous actors, including her ex Brad Pitt.
Jennifer was most recently married to actor Justin Theroux for two years before they split in 2017, while David was also married to British artist Zoe Buckman for seven years, before divorcing that same year.
