The Strange Way Armie Hammer Is Acting Amid His Scandal
It looks like Armie Hammer still has some pep in his step despite his “cannibal” controversy. The actor turned heads when screenshots of his alleged graphic DMs went viral in January 2021, depicting violent sexual fantasies. Shortly after, Hammer’s ex-girlfriends Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich came forward and accused the actor of emotional and sexual abuse, per Page Six. As a result, Hammer stepped away from two upcoming projects, The Offer and Shotgun Wedding, and was dropped by his talent agency, WME, as well as his publicist, according to Vanity Fair.
Hammer denied the allegations in a statement from his attorney, per Vulture, reading, “These assertions about Mr. Hammer are patently untrue. Any interactions with this person, or any partner of his, were completely consensual in that they were fully discussed, agreed upon, and mutually participatory.” The statement continued, “The stories being perpetuated in the media are a misguided attempt to present a one-sided narrative with the goal of tarnishing Mr. Hammer’s reputation, and communications from the individuals involved prove that.”
Despite the shocking claims made against the star, Hammer appears to be doing well — a little too well. Keep scrolling for more details.
Armie Hammer's behavior amid scandal is 'horrifying'
As Armie Hammer resides in Grand Cayman in the midst of his scandal, those around him say his cool, calm, and collected demeanor is unnerving. “It’s quite horrifying to be honest,” a source told Page Six. “[He] walks up and down West Bay Road with no shirt or shoes, without a care in the world.” Hammer doesn’t seem to be trying to stay under the radar, either, as the source says he’s “always boisterous and obnoxious and full of himself.”
Hammer isn’t exactly welcomed on the island. “No one wants him here or understands why he’s not in a facility of some sort,” the source revealed. However, Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, is also living in Grand Cayman and is taking care of their two kids, Harper and Ford. “No one quite understands,” the source explained. “Especially as Elizabeth raises her kids alone and kills herself to do everything for those children.”
Following the allegations, Chambers released a statement on Instagram, writing that she is “shocked, heartbroken, and devastated” over the scandal. Adding that she supports “any victim of assault or abuse,” she said her “sole focus and attention” going forward will be on her children, work, and healing.
