We Have All the Deets on 'Bridgerton' Star Phoebe Dynevor

If you’ve watched even five minutes of Bridgerton, Netflix’s newest binge-worthy show, then you KNOW that one of the series’ biggest breakout stars is Phoebe Dynevor, the actress behind Daphne Bridgerton. You can catch her navigating London’s high society scene in the show’s Gossip-Girl-meets-Jane-Austen-esque world of scandal, romance, and rumors, all while wearing gorgeous gowns and elbow-length gloves, of course.

This was Phoebe’s first big leading role, and I have a kinda good feeling that she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. So, if you’re not already on the Phoebe Dynevor bandwagon, you better hurry up and hop on because I’m telling you rn, this girl is going to be major. In the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about Phoebe to get you up to speed.

She’s from jolly old England.

Manchester, to be exact! So that British accent she has in Bridgerton is 100% authentic, even if she did have to make it a little more posh to fit the role. She was born there in 1995 (which would make her 25 years old) and she has two younger siblings.

She’s got acting in her DNA.

If you (or maybe your mom?) happen to be a fan of British soaps then you might just recognize Phoebe’s mom as Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor. Oh, and did I mention her dad is in the industry too? His name is Tim Dynevor and he’s an actor-turned-screenwriter. When those are your parents, it’s really no surprise when you end up being a crazy talented actress.

I bet you’ve already seen her on your TV screen.

There’s a good chance you’ll recognize Phoebe from her recurring role on the hit show Younger. In case you forgot, she plays Clare, the Irish bartender slash Google employee who marries Josh for a green card and then gets pregnant with his baby. Fun fact: that role was Phoebe’s American TV debut after working in British TV for a few years.

Before Younger, she played Lotti Mott in Snatch alongside Rupert Grint (who you might know better as Ron Weasley) and she was also Martha Cratchit in Dickensian. Her very first acting role, though, was back in 2014 on the TV show Waterloo Road, which is just so happens her Bridgerton co-star Regé-Jean Page, was also in.

She listens to music to get into character.

Some actors might prefer to go full-on method to get into character à la Daniel Day-Lewis, but it seems like Pheobe prefers something a little less extreme. In an interview with ELLE UK, Phoebe said she made a Bridgerton playlist to get herself into the mindset of Daphne.

She’s got opinions and she’s not afraid to share them.

An empowered woman using her platform to stand up for what she believes in? We love to see it! You can catch Phoebe being super vocal on her Instagram to support causes she cares about, like Black Lives Matter, women’s rights, anti-racism, the media’s treatment of women, and workers’ rights. As if we didn’t already love her enough!
