I buy everything at M&S because of the aesthetic – my latest shop was £200 but trolls have slammed me for showing off | The Sun

A FOODIE has been slammed for spending an eye-watering £200 at Marks & Spencer purely because she likes the aesthetic of the items.

Marks & Spencer, also simply known as M&S, may not be the first store to come to mind for shopping on a budget.

But it seems that one avid fan of the high-street retailer, Katya Mackel, has looked past the fact, forking out a fortune for her weekly groceries.

The mum, who is all about well-being, recently left people on TikTok shocked after showing her bag of goodies nabbed from the store.

There were bits and bobs for her home, such as cleaning products, as well as copious amounts of food, including fresh strawberries, eggs, courgette spaghetti and salmon.

The now-viral video also sees Katya wash and prep the products, carefully placing them in neat containers and her air fryer.

Proudly showing off her shopping, the mum admitted that the only reason she chose the retailer was purely because of its aesthetics.

''Spending another £200 because everything is SO PRETTY,'' Katya told her followers in the caption.

But whilst the mum may have not had any bad intentions, the clip soon took social media by storm for all the wrong reasons.

Close to 200 people flocked to comments, where many slammed Katya for the aesthetics-based food shop.

Luckily for Katya, who posts under (@katya.mackle), numerous supportive users insisted that the retailer is not as pricey as many deem it to be.

''This is so me recently – and before anyone says about cost of living, my M&S shop is £10 cheaper per week than Aldi,'' a fellow fan of the store hit back at the trolls.

''And I even find the [it] cheaper than a lot of other supermarkets,'' a second agreed.
