I'm a Fashion Writer, and These are the 12 Best Last-Minute Gifts to Buy at Nordstrom
The other day I went into the Nordstrom at West 57th Street for the first time since the pandemic, and before that, I went into that same Nordstrom for the first time ever. Growing up in New York, there was never a Nordstrom location in the city — so even though I'd been into thousands of stores all over the five boroughs by that point, I can truly say that I was missing out on an amazing department store experience without even knowing it.
I spent about one hour walking through my new favorite spot, which was decorated perfectly for Christmas. On top of the elaborately festive trees, ornaments, and garland everywhere, there were also performances by the store's Santa, complete with snow falling from the seven-floor floor escalator tower. I brought my pug with me (in a holiday sweater, of course), and they even brought Santa out to meet her. When she needed water, they brought it to her in a martini glass.
It felt like walking through a slightly more magical version of my Nordstrom wishlist IRL. One of the highlights was the Nordstrom Pop-In shop (curated by Nordstrom's VP of creative projects and home, Olivia Kim), which features unique gifts ranging from artistically hand-crocheted plushies adults would actually want to Oprah's favorite blender. There were also personalized Santa Sacks to get your gifts packaged in, although if you can't make it in store, they're available online to DIY at home, too (and currently on sale).

After making mental notes of what to buy from Nordstrom for everyone on my shopping list, I went home and looked through the thousands of gifts online to pick out the very best that can be purchased virtually. The good news is that if you can't make it over to a Nordstrom location, the 12 last-minute gifts, below, are guaranteed to arrive before December 25 with free shipping — but only if you order by 8pm ET tonight.
After that cut off, you can still receive things on time, but will likely have to pay a little extra for expedited shipping. So channel your inner Santa and get to shopping my picks of the best Nordstrom gifts for everyone on your list.
Twelve Mirror Mirror Freshwater Pearl Locket Necklace
When Olivia Rodrigo's album Sour came out, I was obsessed (just like most of the internet). But what kept me up at night was not Driver's License; instead, I was extremely hyper-fixated with the selfie she posted in June and set out to find exactly where she got her necklaces adorned with bedazzled tooth charms. Turns out it's by the brand Twelve, designed by Haley Peacock in New York. Every drop now sells out instantly, but thankfully, some exclusive pieces are still in stock at Nordstrom. This pearl locket necklace is the most unique of its kind I've ever seen, and I want to buy one for myself and everyone I know.

Dior Lip Glow & Care Set
Dior Lip Glow is one of those presents almost anyone who loves makeup would be thrilled to receive, and that's a fact. The product is one of the most talked-about things on TikTok, and people who use it somehow make it a part of their personality. But listen, as someone who also swears by it, I get it. The lip gloss is the best I've ever used, and the packaging is so luxe, I feel extremely fancy everytime I put it on. Essentially, it's a mood boost in a tiny package that'll also make your lips look amazing. What's not to love? Plus, the $70 Lip Glow & Care set is actually worth $100, and features full sizes of Dior's most popular lip formulas.

Chanel Le Lift La Crème Main
Like the Dior Lip Glow, this Chanel Beauty hand cream will always make a great gift because it's a luxury product at a reasonable price. Truly, how else can you get something with the classic interlocking C logo for less than $70? Not only is the packaging on the Chanel La Crème Main worth keeping forever, but the cream itself is also a holy grail product for many. In 2021 (and unfortunately by the looks of it, in 2022) hand cream in the purse is an essential because of all the hand sanitizer we're using. So you might as well gift Chanel so your recipient can get the perfect what's-in-my-bag Instagram photo (after sanitizing and moisturizing first, of course).

Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
I'd say Dior, Chanel, and Charlotte Tilbury are my personal holy trinity of beauty. I swear by so many of each brand's items and truly can't imagine completing my makeup routine without them. Tilbury's eyeshadow palettes single-handedly transform my eyes, and if I woke up with this palette in my stocking, I'd scream at the top of my lungs. It's that good, and if you don't believe me, just take a look at the 138 rave reviews from Nordstrom shoppers.

YanYan Rosie Grandpa Oversize Lambswool Cardigan
I've waxed poetic about my love of the knitwear brand YanYan before, but it really is the best. No one is making knits as unique as this, and everytime it drops something new, I instantly want to add it to my shopping cart. If you're looking for a higher-priced gift for someone, any YanYan knit will do, but this oversized lambswool cardi is one that I dream of (and I think anyone who's seen it feels the same). It's black and white, which makes it easy to layer over any winter outfit, but all of the colorful floral embellishments give such a happy vibe that it'll instantly remind you of spring.

Miu Miu Eau de Parfum
My Christmas list usually looks a little something like this: Miu Miu. Period. You can gift me anything from the brand, which is my absolute favorite, and I would cry tears of joy. My first-ever Miu Miu product was actually its best-selling perfume that I was gifted by the brand after I attended an event at my first fashion job. So, it holds a special place in my heart, but it's also just the most lovely scent and has been my go-to for years now. I always get compliments when I wear it, and the bottles look incredible sitting on my bathroom counter.

Boy Smells x Ganni Park Life Scented Candle
I am better at buying Boy Smells candles every other week than I am at remembering to go grocery shopping. Is that ridiculous? Maybe. But truth be told, I think that having my apartment smell incredible is just as important as making sure I have enough avocados for breakfast. And, there's no better ambiance (especially in the winter) than one set by a couple of glowing Boy Smells candles. I'm also a huge fan of Ganni, so when the two brands collaborated on this Park Life candle, it was like a dream come true for me. It has notes of ginger, sage, and fig, which feels festive but in an understated way.

Ganni Recycled Wool Blend Scarf
Speaking of Ganni, if someone really wants an accessory from the label that won't melt, its scarves are beyond perfect, too. Scarves have become as much an 'It' item as anything else in 2021, thanks in large part to the colorful Acne scarf that's gone viral many a time on TikTok. And since Ganni isa Scandinavian brand, it knows a thing or two about cold-weather accessories. This recycled wool blend scarf looks so incredibly cozy and would go perfectly with any and every muppet hat this season.

Kyi Kyi Faux Fur Earmuffs
If you can't afford a fluffy Emma Brewin muppet hat a la Miley Cyrus (Santa, I'm expecting one), ear muffs are the next best just-as-fluffy accessory. These faux fur ones by Kyi Kyi give off the same vibe but only cost $54. And warm ears are truly the best Christmas gift of all.

The Oula Company Circle Print Cotton Dress
For the person who is perpetually on vacation, or already planning their next getaway for 2022, the Oula Company is a must-buy. The woman- and Black-owned brand is known for its dresses and tops made with bold prints that feel like a trip to the beach. This all-cotton dress with a ruffle skirt and notched collar is the type you can wear anywhere: on a plane, at a dinner, to the beach. And as a result, it makes one of the most practical and stunning gifts of the season.

Beast Blender & Hydration System Set
The Beast Blender & Hydration set is one of Oprah's favorite things of 2021, and coincidentally it's one of mine as well. I got myself one as soon as I laid eyes on it because I'm a vain lover of smoothies who was not thrilled by how my Nutri-Bullet looked next to my other kitchen appliances. Not only is this blender gorgeous, but it's also the best one I've ever used. It's not as loud as similar models, and it quickly and efficiently blends anything I put in (including extra frozen fruit).

Just Dutch Boris the Bear Plush
I saw this extremely adorable bear plush in person at Nordstrom, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. It's a bear named Boris wearing a pair of white overalls that I wish I owned. How can it possibly get better than that?! This series of Just Dutch plushies are inspired by 'Miffy and Friends' and hand-crocheted from organic cotton yarns by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. You can easily buy one of these for any adult in your life, or your dog, or a small child, and they'd all be equally as happy. And if you want something extra festive, there's even one of Boris the bear wearing a Christmas outfit.
