I'm a savvy shopper, I went shopping in B&M and Home Bargains to compare the furniture prices – there's a clear winner | The Sun

THEY’RE often spoken about in the same breath and loved by bargain hunters in equal measure.

But when it comes to furniture, do Home Bargains or B&M provide better value?

One savvy shopper decided to find out the answer to the burning question, as she went to both stores to compare and contrast.

She browsed both impressive homeware sections and checked out how much each individual item cost and where others could save money.

And she soon discovered that there was one runaway winner, as one store’s prices were consistently lower across objects including mirrors and drinks trolleys.

Social media influencer The Budgeting Mum then uploaded a video going into more detail about what she’d found out.

The Budgeting Mum, who is on TikTok as @budgetingmum, wrote alongside the post: “B&M versus Home Bargains.

“The difference between their home furniture prices,” she added with a shocked face emoji.

First up, she did a comparison of both shop’s corner shelves.

B&M’s offering was a 5-tier white unit for £38 – but Home Bargains saw their deal and raised them.

Their extremely similar looking unit with 4-tiers was priced at just £29.99 and labelled up as one of their ‘Star Buys.’

The next piece of furniture that The Budget Mum was interested in were what they had in their mirror section.

Again, B&M had a white arch mirror for £20, while Home Bargains’ similarly shaped black mirror was over £13 cheaper at £6.99.

Finally, she spotted a stylish gold drinks trolley from B&M, which customers can take home for £30.

Yet, Home Bargains had their own version of a drinks trolley in an art deco style that looked just as nice.

The price difference? Home Bargains’ one came in lower once more at £29.99.

The discovery came as quite the shock to The Budgeting Mum, as she let her 81.2k followers in on the shopping tip: “Price comparisons between two of my favourite shops turned out to be quite shocking.

“It made me think maybe we are assuming B&M is cheap now due to its increased popularity!
