Woman transforms her boring whitewash bathroom into a jungle paradise using bargains from Ikea and The Range
A THRIFTY woman has completely transformed her whitewash bathroom into a stunning jungle-themed paradise using bargains from Ikea and The Range.
Instead of keeping the ordinary colour palette in the "downstairs loo" the DIY fan went for a bold new look with vibrant blue and gold hues.
The small space now boasts a modern two-tone effect with a lick of sapphire blue paint added to the top half of the walls while the bottom has a crisp white finish.
One wall features a stunning printed wallpaper – picked up from The Range – which has golden animals printed all over.
The thrifty shopper then decorated the space with a modern black wall mounted mirror from B&M, plus some decorative shelves and a couple of plants to tie in with the jungle theme.
Sharing her incredible transformation in theDIY On A Budget Official Facebook group, Loren Pearson wrote: "So a trip to ikea and the range today resulted in this improvement of our downstairs toilet…brave and bold, but we love it!
And added: "Just the white to paint tomorrow, and it’s done! Thanks for all the inspiration on this page!!"
The new look was a hit with other DIY fans in the group as many rushed to praise Loren for her efforts.
"That looks amazing," one person commented.
And another gushed: "Oh my goodness, I love it."
Others complimented the new design but were concerned about the positioning of the plant next to the loo.
"Love that wall paper, but does that plant tickle your bum when your on the loo," one woman questioned. (sic)
While another joked: "Love it but people need to mind that plant don’t end up where it shouldn’t" (sic).
But another woman chimed in to reassure Loren the plants position was completely fine saying: "Looks AMAZING…. Its a downstairs loo that's probably not used that much so the plants location not a real issue as I think it looks great there."
