WHETHER it's summer, autumn, winter or spring, there's always the chance that the sun might peep through which is why you should always be prepared and have a pair of the best sunglasses on your person.
There are so many different shapes, designers and price points available and, although fashions change year on year, there are some shapes that never really go out of style.
In our opinion, sunglasses are severely overlooked as an accessory that takes over the majority of your face when you wear them, with so many people not taking much care about which pair they choose.
But fundamentally, sunglasses are fun and can be used to project who you are.
To give you an idea of all the styles out there, we've chosen some of the best sunglasses for women.
These Marc Jacobs sunnies are certainly an investment but they won't hurt your wallet as much as other designer models. And, the lightweight design and skinny chain make them both stylish and practical — you won't have to worry about losing them, as they'll be safely looped around your neck at all times.
Thanks to the gold frames and chain, these will look extra luxurious when paired with your best gold jewellery. They're the ultimate summer fashion sunnies.

A smaller shape, these titanium and crystal frames are round sunglasses compared to the oversized styles we've seen so far.
A flattering oval shape means that even if your face is round or doesn't usually suit rounder styles, these should be big enough to counteract the usual widening that regular round sunglasses introduce.
They're not cheap, but they are well made and completely inoffensive which means they can be worn in whatever style is en vogue.
Polarised?: Yes, Shape: Oval, Colour: Grey Aviator Style Sunglasses Aviator Style Sunglasses, £15 from Next – buy here
Is there a more classic style than the aviator?
Brought back into fashion by last year's mega-successful Top Gun sequel, aviator sunglasses, which are most associated with Ray Ban, are now everywhere.
But getting that shape doesn't have to cost a fortune – these ones from Next won't set you back as much as a pair of Ray-Bans.

We're pretty obsessed with these and we reckon they are pretty reasonably priced for such a big-time designer brand.
Better hurry though because these are sure to sell out.

With medium-sized frames and big lenses, these are sturdy without being heavy and statement without being flashy.
Although they're still pricey – it is Gucci after all – they're slightly more palatable at less than £300 and they're big-time keepers.
Classy and elegant, we love them.

Prada again you say? Just hear us out because the shape of these rectangular frames is unrivalled.
Thin rectangular frames are really hard to get right, but these are both wide and narrow, because of the lens-to-frame ratio.
The lenses take up a good majority of the space but the frames are still substantial, giving the appearance of weight this shape needs.
These are super cool and we'd definitely add them to our sunglasses collection because different outfits need different sunnies, no question.
