Coronation Street star Colson Smith’s incredible Christmas in New Zealand
Coronation street actor Craig Colson has swapped the cobbles for Down Under this Christmas, after he spent the festive period in New Zealand, almost 12,000 miles away from Manchester – or Weatherfield.
The soap favourite, who has been playing Craig Tinker since 2011, took to his Instagram to share some of his trip with his 179K followers.
The 24 year old posted three individual pictures to his grid, each one enjoying a different activity in the sunshine.
On December 27, he shared a snap of what he got up to on Boxing Day, which included him and three friends posing on top of different vehicles, getting ready for some sort of cross country drive.
“Boxing Day 2022 – NEW ZEALAND TOP GEAR STYLE CHALLENGE,” the actor wrote, noticeably in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, which demonstrated the obvious weather differences.
The second image saw the star out in the countryside posing on top of another long vehicle and smiling for the camera.
Colson sported a pair of black shorts, a khaki short-sleeved top, a bucket hat, and sunglasses as he soaked up the hot sun during his escape from the chilly UK winter.
Joking that he only led the convoy briefly, and that they “Got stuck twice. Broke down once. Toe rope snapped once,” the actor was still beaming and looking to be enjoying himself.
The third and most recent photo saw the Corrie star head back into civilization as he took a trip to Fitzherbert Park Oval, a sportsground where he caught a game of cricket.
“Perks of 2 Summers is 2 seasons of cricket!” he gushed.
Again, the actor was seen donning summer attire as he posed for the camera, and it looks as though he’s caught a bit of a tan during the time he’s been away.
The background of the shot showed people on picnic blankets wearing sun hats, who also seemed to be enjoying a sunny day out at the cricket ground.
Plenty of Colson’s friends and fans took to the comment section to wish him a great trip, including one user who dubbed the holiday as an “amazing adventure.”
A second said: “Nice one Colson,” as someone else typed: “You are having an amazing time it seems! You enjoy.”
Lots of users also commented on how incredible New Zealand is, and that they welcome the actor with open arms.
“Welcome to Nz, lovely to have you here. Glad you're having fun,” one person wrote, as another said: “Welcome to NZ! Enjoy! Plenty of beaut trails to run here!”
