A carpet in a rental property so disgustingly filthy it became a different colour has horrified viewers on TikTok, with many finding it hard to believe.
In the nauseating footage, Brandon Anderson who is on the video-sharing app as @brand_ons shows how the carpet turns from dark grey to pale orange.
The carpet is being professionally steam cleaned and the results are impressive, but also slightly worrying.
It’s hard to comprehend that it’s the same carpet and would probably not be believable if the machine wasn’t stripping the gunk out of the carpet in the video, leaving lines of cleanliness in the grime.
The TikTok user then shows the foul wastewater being emptied and it’s as black as crude oil.
Unsurprisingly, people were sickened and the video has been watched more than 47,000 times since Brandon, who runs the website gonineline.com, uploaded it on Tuesday, March 2.
One shocked fan commented: "I thought they had a nice grey carpet, boy was I wrong."

"Dude, it took my brain a min to comprehend that this was not two carpets," wrote a second viewer.
Another baffled user said: "The dirt can’t possibly be that evenly distributed, it’s probably getting dyed."
Meanwhile, someone else with a similar experience said they reckoned it could be caused by smoking cigarettes indoors – which is notorious for leaving a buildup of tar and smoke.

They confessed: "It’s from smoking in the apartment. In my first apartment, I smoked and I didn’t get the deposit back because it ruined the carpet."
Similarly, another viewer said: "What the hell went on in that home? My first guess was smoke/fire but whatever the case may be it needs to be replaced."
In the comments, Brandon revealed the home was rented out and it would seem the tenants did not keep the carpet clean.
This comes after a woman had a similar experience and found out a filthy wooden floor was a different colour while cleaning it.
