Donald Trump ‘falls asleep’ during Queen’s speech at Palace banquet
President Donald Trump has been captured on camera appearing to nod off during the Buckingham Palace banquet last night.
The 72-year-old, who arrived in the UK yesterday for a three-day state visit, looked as though he was struggling to stay awake as the Queen gave a welcome speech ahead of the lavish feast.
The billionaire can be seen in the clip circulating on social media sat between Her Majesty and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
But it was while the Queen, 93, spoke of the close relationship between the UK and America around the grand banquet hall table, Mr Trump can be seen repeatedly closing his eyes for a brief time.

At one point he suddenly jolts up.
One social media user remarked: "Good, god, he’s falling asleep at the royal dinner."
Another said: "He falls asleep at one point in this. What an embarrassment."
A third tweeted Mr Trump directly and said: "You fell asleep during THE QUEEN'S speech! You are a total embarrassment to our country and the world."
Mr Trump could have however been glancing down, closing his eyes to reflect on the moving speech delivered by the Queen, or suffering jet lag.
Meanwhile, the banquet was attended by 170 guests including the royal family, Mr Trump’s family and political spheres.
The food and drink served to diners at royal events usually features produce from the Queen’s estate, and those invited to the Buckingham Palace banquet in honour of the US president were served a 2014 English sparkling wine from Windsor Great Park, priced at about £37.99.
Red wine lovers quaffed Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 1990 – 1er cru classe Pauillac, costing up to £1,395 a bottle, for those with deep pockets.
Mr Trump is said to have never drunk and encouraged his children to abstain from alcohol.
The exclusive array of guests also dined on steamed fillet of halibut with watercress mousse, asparagus spears and chervil sauce.
It was followed by saddle of new season Windsor lamb, with herb stuffing, spring vegetables and port sauce.
