Gigi Hadid and Travis Scott have the same taste in super-expensive belts
Gigi Hadid and Travis Scott are both feeling this limited-edition Louis Vuitton belt.
On Monday night, the 24-year-old model attended the 2019 CFDA Awards as the date of Louis Vuitton menswear artistic director Virgil Abloh, 38, wearing a head-to-toe look from the brand.
The cover girl chose an outfit from Vuitton’s fall 2019 menswear collection for the evening, composed of a baby blue oversized blazer, matching trousers with a pleated skirt layered on top and a silk “Louie Belt” embellished with two large, padded appliqués slung across her chest, an accessory which is currently not available to the public.
It’s the same belt Scott wore during his Super Bowl performance in February 2019. The rapper, 28, jumped on stage in the midst of Maroon 5’s halftime show to deliver a rendition of his hit song “Sicko Mode” wearing leather trousers and a vest from ALYX’s fall 2019 collection, a Nike long-sleeved shirt and a light tan version of Hadid’s belt with large butterfly and shield embellishments.
The choice makes perfect sense, given the accessory is most likely named after one of Drake’s “Sicko Mode” lyrics: “My dawg would probably do it for a Louis belt / That’s just all he know, he don’t know nothin’ else.”
Back in January 2017, Scott shared an Instagram photo of himself sitting in the front row at Vuitton’s fall 2017 show — one year before Abloh became the head designer for the house — captioned, “@louisvuitton my dawg prolly do it for a Louis belt.”
