I'm heartbroken after dream boy said he wants to be nothing more than friends
DEAR DEIDRE: I HAVE fallen in love with my dream boy, but he wants to be just friends. I’m heartbroken. We are both 17.
I couldn’t believe my luck when he swapped numbers with me. I told him I’d had a crush on him for years.
We talked for months over lockdown and grew close.
But after we met up, he said he didn’t feel the “click” and just wants to be friends.

I’ve agreed but I’m gutted.
DEIDRE SAYS: I know it hurts but you can’t make someone feel something they don’t.
It’s possible that friendship with this boy will turn into more, but don’t count on it.
Time will heal your broken heart and you’ll eventually meet someone who is really perfect for you because he feels the same.
