EastEnders fans were left horrified as Kush Kazemi was pushed under a tube train in a brutal murder by Gray Atkins in Monday evening's episode.

Davood Ghadami's character Kush was a staple of the soap, before he met the grisly end on screen.

When it was revealed Kush would be leaving a TV insider explained: "Bosses have a huge plot planned but although Davood was told in January, his departure is not for a very long time yet in fact Kush will be on screen until well into 2021.

"It’s a shame and he will be missed by everyone at Elstree but sometimes the cost of having a big storyline means losing big characters."

Now we know what that huge plot is and how the star meets his tragic end and it has left many fans shocked.

Luckily, Davood Ghadami's life away from his Albert Square character is a far cry away from that of his character, and he lives a lovely life with wife Isobel. Let's take a look at what we know about Davood…

Is Davood Ghadami married?

Davood, 38, has been married to his wife Isobel since 2010, and they live in a stunning Essex home.

The star shares the occasional snap of his property, including his large garden area perfect for his regular workouts.

More recently, the star posted a snap of his table with sunflowers on top and birthday cards and cake as he celebrated becoming a year older.

Perhaps the sweetest part of the photo was a sign saying ‘Love you dad’ sitting on the star-print table cloth, likely put together by Davood and Isobel’s two daughters, Eva and Grace.

Back in 2018, he told Woman magazine: “My wife and I know each other inside out and have a genuine understanding about how the other ticks. We met 17 years ago at university so we’ve got a lot of shared history.

“I’m an incredibly lucky man. My life couldn’t be the way it is without her support. She was amazing when I was in Strictly and kept everything going.”

Davood’s career

Davood is a British actor, raised in Essex, who burst onto our screens in 2014 when he became Kush Kazemi in EastEnders.

Before this, you may well have seen Davood as Duncan Clark in Taggart, and he’s also starred in Law & Order, Doctor Who, Silent Witness and many films, including Shop Girl and Red Mercury.

He has also been in Amir in 13 at The National Theatre.

And he’s had a very successful career on hit BBC soap EastEnders thus far, winning Best Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards.

The dad-of-two has also taken part in many an intense scene on EastEnders as fans will know, including the heartbreaking scenes in which his unborn baby die in wife Shabnam's womb.

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing will have watched Davood wow judges on the popular show in 2017.

Discussing the Strictly curse while appearing on This Morning at the time, Davood said: “As an actor, I'm in intimate situations all the time. My wife is used to it happening.

"I like to separate being on the show and going home and spending time with my family.

A peruse of Davood’s Instagram shows that he’s a big fitness fanatic and often shares videos and pictures of himself working out for his 111,000 followers to enjoy.

The star tends to be quite private when it comes to his personal life and only shares the rare snap of his children but has evidently chosen not to reveal their faces in photos.
