Lily James goes back to honey blonde hair for new Charlotte Tilbury campaign

Charlotte Tilbury has an all-star line up of beauty ambassadors. We’ve seen Kate Moss front the Beautiful Skin foundation campaign and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor join the brand as an ambassador – and now it’s the turn of British actress Lily James.

The Mamma Mia star has just been announced as the new global face of Tilbury’s iconic Magic Cream – a “miracle” moisturiser with a huge celebrity and influencer fanbase. The cream hasn’t had a dedicated celebrity face before so Lily is making brand history with the campaign.

As you might expect, the 33 year old looks perfectly glowy in the images. It also seems she’s gone back to a blonde hair colour for the campaign – a warm-toned shade we haven’t really seen her natural hair since she starred in Cinderella. She was blonde for Pam & Tommy but that was almost certainly the work of a peroxide wig. For quite some time now Lily has swapped between dark brunette hair and warm-toned brunette balayages, so the blonde is a refreshing update.

Her skin, however, is the star of the show. With a flawless, dewy base featuring minimal makeup, Lily certainly looks like she’s a daily Magic Cream user. It would be hardly surprising if she has been a long-time fan of it as plenty of makeup artists keep a pot of the moisturiser in their kits to prep actresses and models for shoots and filming.

If you haven't heard of why the cream – shop ithere from £49– has been given cult status by industry experts, it’s largely because of its ability to transform dull skin into a glowing complexion almost instantly. In tests, the product left testers’ skin three times more hydrated after just one hour of wear and twice as firm-looking after eight weeks of regular use.

The story behind the cream’s creation is also pretty interesting. In an interview with OK! Charlotte Tilbury herself told us the star-studded tale…

“I was always known as the Queen of Glow – that’s partly how Magic Cream became so famous. It was always that everyone, even Gwyneth Paltrow, was like ‘that’s the most amazing cream’. It creates such glowing skin. It’s that amazing glow it gives – that’s how the cream came to be called Magic Cream,” she explains.

“I do makeup for a lot of celebrities and this cream gives a perfect base in 28 seconds, not 28 days.”

We don’t need any more convincing, a pot of this is going straight to the top of our Christmas wish lists!
