Man rejected me after I sent him a Valentine's card – I've humiliated myself | The Sun
DEAR DEIDRE: I AM kicking myself for sending a man I really fancied a Valentine’s card.
I’ve liked him for more than a year and thought there was no harm in sending a card to his home.
But soon after he received the card, he replied with a grumpy message, telling me there was no chance we could ever get together.
He went on to say that we weren’t children and I’m really not his type.
I’ve known him for a few years. He’s a really decent man and he’s my mechanic.
I’m 48 and he’s 53. He’s divorced and I thought from our lovely chats that he liked me too.

DEIDRE SAYS: You have nothing to feel embarrassed about.
You did a lovely, brave thing and told someone, who you thought was available, that they were admired.
I’m sorry this man’s response was so clumsy and blunt.
Please be more kind to yourself and put this in the past.
Most would have been flattered by your card.
And consider yourself lucky that you discovered this side to his personality sooner rather than later.
