Meghan Markle named Krusty the Clown by mean school kids for Hollywood-inspired hair chop

Meghan Markle revealed mean school kids called her a ‘clown’ for her Hollywood hairdo as a youngster.

The Duchess, 40, was seen on The Ellen Show in America last night discussing struggles of early life and her happiness in California with Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet.

During the tell-all chat, Meghan told good pal Ellen that horrid peers likened her to Krusty the Clown from The Simpsons when, aged 11, a flashy hairdo went very wrong.

The mum-of-two told Ellen: “I was obsessed with Andie MacDowell in Four Weddings and a Funeral. All I wanted was a perfect little curly hair cut, so I went to the hairdresser and got it.”

But, she revealed, the dream cut was a disaster!

“On that first day I was like, ‘This is amazing’,” she explained, as a sweet snap popped up on the studio screen. “[But] it was as though everyone forgot to tell me that, ‘You have ethnic hair, you’re not going to look like Andie MacDowell’.”

Meghan’s peers were quick to catch on to her new look, with a pretty mean comparison.

“I go to school and they said I look like Krusty the Clown from The Simpsons. It was a real bummer, but I had a whole vibe happening,” she joked.

Show host Ellen reassured the ex-Suits actress, quipping at Meghan’s pictures: “You look like you are embracing it.”

The revealing chat with Ellen is Meghan’s second major TV interview since she stepped back from royal duties and moved to the States with Prince Harry last year.

Popular Culture Expert Nick Ede told OK!: “Brits will see this as a PR stunt, but this is about brand Meghan – she’s showing the world she’s here to stay.”

During the show, which will air in Britain soon, Meghan shared sweet snippets about baby daughter Lilibet, who is now five months old.

The Duchess revealed her daughter’s struggle with teething, to which Ellen suggested a wild remedy: “Tequila, anything.”

Meghan joked back: “That’s Auntie Ellen for you!” as Ellen admitted: “That’s why I don’t have kids.”

The Duchess was a good sport on Ellen, sending viewers into fits of giggles after she threw herself into a prank.

Meghan wore an earpiece in public and acted out whatever Ellen demanded.

Look out for 'Kate At 40', a collector's edition of OK! magazine packed full of exclusive content about the Duchess Of Cambridge. On sale now for £4.99 at most good newsagents.

The star was seen squatting in public and told a passerby that she had “healing powers” while sipping milk from a baby bottle.

Meghan clearly hasn’t lost her acting talent!
