She may be just a few weeks away from giving birth to her third child, but Rochelle Humes is still finding time to squeeze in some last-minute beauty treatments.

The This Morning presenter – who recently enjoyed a kid-free ”babymoon” at a spa hotel with husband Marvin Humes – booked in for an at-home massage from lymphatic drainage expert and physiotherapist Flavia Morellato.

“@flaviamorellato is over to give me my ankles back,” Rochelle wrote on Instagram Stories, while the therapist massaged her lower legs.

And the results were dramatic. In the next clip, Rochelle – who is also mother to daughters Alaia-Mai, seven, and Valentina, three – lifted up the leg that Flavia had worked on with ease, yet struggled to lift her other leg up more than a few inches.

“Crazy how much water you hold onto in pregnancy and how heavy it makes your legs,” she commented, before adding; “So many pregnancy benefits to lymphatic drainage.”

But what exactly is lymphatic drainage, and what are these benefits? Flavia – who also counts Millie Mackintosh and Ellie Goulding as clients – describes the treatment as “a gentle therapeutic and rhythmic massage that stimulates the lymph flow around the body. It helps to flush out the water excess and toxins, aiding for a general well-being.

The lymphatic system is responsible for removing metabolic waste, toxins and water excess. By stimulating the lymph nodes and pushing the lymph toward the heart, these waste products will go back into the bloodstream to be filtered by kidneys and flushed out of the body.

Lymphatic drainage has been shown to reduce bloating and water retention (pregnant women’s bodies hold more water than normal, hence swollen ankles like Rochelle’s), boost circulation and help with digestion.

And Rochelle’s pampering continued the next day, as she filmed herself getting a facial treatment from her long-time facialist Shane Cooper.

“Me and my fave are reunited,” she says to the camera, before explaining how one product in particular applied during the treatment proved how dehydrated her skin was.

“You’re going to look fabulous when you’re giving birth,” Shane replies.
