Food is a huge part of the festive season, so it’s important to make sure you are stocked up on the essentials. With the national lockdown still in play and an extension possible, nobody knows what the situation will be this Christmas. If you’d rather avoid visiting the supermarket to get your Christmas dinner bits and bobs, you’d better book a delivery slot for Christmas week. If you shop at Sainsbury’s, you’ll need to book a slot by a specific date. When do you have to book your Christmas delivery at Sainsbury’s?

Delivery slots for Christmas week are nearly sold out at the likes of Asda and Tesco, and shoppers are panicked that they won’t be able to get their food delivered in time for the big day.

Some supermarkets such as Aldi have announced their schedule but haven’t released the slots yet.

What about Sainsbury’s Christmas delivery slots, are they available yet?

You can’t book Sainsbury’s delivery slots for Christmas just yet.

Sainsbury’s customers will need to wait until November 29 to start booking Christmas delivery slots.

Once the slots are bookable, you can choose a date that’s right for you and secure it by checking out.

Payment isn’t taken until the day of delivery or collection, and you can amend your basket as many times as you like until 11pm the day before delivery or collection.

Like Asda, Sainsbury’s isn’t offering delivery slots on Christmas Eve.

Sainsbury’s online is closed for delivery on December 24, 25 and 26.

That means you’ll need to get your Christmas shopping delivered or collected from Sainsbury’s between December 20 and 23.

The site recommends planning ahead and beating the rush by “securing your delivery slot well in advance”.
