Stranger Things: Netflix drops huge teaser trailer confirming Hopper is ALIVE

The popular Netflix series released the clip entitled ‘From Russia with love…’ and in it we are transported to Russia where we see a whole load of snow, trees and men hard at work on a rail track.

The ominous, tense music hints at something shocking to come, as a dog barks and soldiers clinging to guns circle the workers.

As the music and the chants of the men get louder, a final clip zooms in on a man pulling off his warm headgear – and, you guessed it, it's the character, who seemingly died at the end of the last series.

Hopper is the chief of police in Hawkins, Indiana, who, throughout the first three seasons, investigates the strange occurrences in the town.

The character, who is played by David Harbour, removes his hat and wipes his brow and his now bald head and looks exhausted before the screen fades to black.

Netflix confirmed Hopper’s return to the fourth season and released a new synopsis which reads: “It's not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other.

“Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…”

It therefore seems that the new season could well take place across two locations.

As a refresh for the Stranger Things fans, season three ended with Hopper appearing to have perished in an extra dimensional port, leaving many to query whether or not he would’ve survived the blast.

Sadly, the brief trailer comes with no release date and so we’re left on the edge of our seats with no real answers!

There were a fair few casualties in the last episode of season three. Billy, played by Dacre Montgomery died and so is unlikely to return for the fourth season (although with Hopper’s return it seems anything is possible!)

But we can expect to see familiar faces including Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, Finn Wolfhard’s Mike, Winona Ryder’s Joyce, Noah Schnapp’s Will, Caleb Mclaughlin’s Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin, Natalia Dyer’s Nancy, Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan, Maya Hawke’s Robin and Joe Keery (Steve).

There’s been no official casting news yet, so keep your eyes peeled and bring on season four!
