Tesco credit card users often get points and discounts without having to scan their Clubcard. This is because it doubles up as a Clubcard, meaning points are usually collected every time a customer uses their card. However, customers have noticed that they are not receiving points when paying via Apple Pay.

When using Tesco’s credit card, every £4 spent in Tesco equals to five Clubcard points.

However, some shoppers have reported that they are not receiving points when paying via Apple Pay.

Linda Kirkland tweeted: “Apple Pay with Tesco credit card gives you no Clubcard points, I was told that it is a third party supplier.

“One of the big selling points for their credit card is that you get Clubcard points on every transaction.

“No you don’t…not with Apple Pay.”

Another shopper, called Ben, said: “I need Martin Lewis to cover this, it’s so confusing.”

Will Third replied: “You might want to check your Tesco credit card’s Clubcard number is associated with your Tesco account.

“I have checked a few Apple Pay transactions and see that I have received points for the purchases.”

Anne Hime said: “Paid for a shop using my credit card via Apple Pay and seems the Clubcard didn’t work and I missed out on points.”

Tina Burgess added: “Where are my points? It’s only just come to my attention that I could be missing out on them.”

Apple Pay’s FAQ’s page explained that customers must swipe their Clubcard before paying to get the Clubcard points.

The supermarket added: “When a customer uses a Tesco Bank credit card in a Tesco store they collect points for both their shopping, and for paying with their Tesco Bank card.

“If this is done using Apple Pay, customers must also first tap their Clubcard at the till to ensure they receive all the points, and any discounts.

“Information regarding Apple Pay is in the welcome booklet, as well as on our website and online community pages.

“If a customer does not receive their full allocation of points and discounts we can correct this.”

If shoppers find that they have missing points, they should be able to claim them back via customer services.

Customers who hold a Tesco Clubcard can make use of all the benefits it offers.

This includes Tesco’s Clubcard Prices promotion which rewards members with exclusive in store and online deals.

Customers can save money on different food items each week by using their loyalty card.

Products included in the promotion are labelled in store with a yellow sticker and the price of the item is reduced when customers scan their loyalty card at the checkout.

In other Tesco news, the supermarket is urging Britons to apply for its temporary roles to help throughout the Christmas period.
