The past few years we've witnessed a baby boom in the royal family, with Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie all welcoming little ones to their broods.
Royal fanatics are patiently waiting for the latest royal tot to arrive, after Princess Beatrice, 33, announced she was expecting her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38.
The Italian businessman wed Beatrice last July, in a low-key ceremony which only close family attended, due to coronavirus restrictions, and the pair announced their pregnancy in May 2021.
Beatrice's younger sister, Princess Eugenie, 31, shared a series of images on her personal Instagram account to celebrate her sister's announcement, congratulating the pair on the incredible news.
But what do we know about Beatrice and Edoardo's baby?
What has the Royal Family said about the pregnancy?
Earlier this year, it was announced that Princess Beatrice is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Buckingham Palace announced on May 19, 2021, that the couple – who wed at All Saints Chapel in July 2020 – were "very pleased to announce" the incredible news.
Shared via Twitter and Instagram, the social media account for the royals wrote a lovely statement congratulating the pair.
It said: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.
"The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."
A day later, on May 20, Princess Eugenie shared a congratulatory Instagram post on her personal profile.
She captioned an image from the pair's wedding: "It's World Bee Day!! A day to celebrate nature's most badass little friend with their black and yellow stripes..
"But our furry little friends have to share today with my big sis Bea who's got a little one on the way."
Eugenie concluded: "Beabea and Edo huge congratulations on your news – can't wait to meet the little one"
When is Princess Beatrice and Edoardo's baby's due date?
Beatrice and Edo have kept things under wraps with it comes to the finer details of their pregnancy, such as the due date.
Currently, the only details surrounding the baby's due date are that it is expecting in the Autumn of this year.
This means we can expect the child anytime from September onwards.
In early July, Beatrice was pictured attending the 10th day of Wimbledon games with hubby Edoardo, for which she wore a tight-fitting white dress with black polka dots.
The stunning outfit showed off the Princess' baby bump, which already seemed a significant size at the time.
It suggests that Beatrice could by now, be heavily pregnant and the child could be born within the next month.
The royal baby will be the Queen's 12th great-grandchild, as Prince Harry's second child with wife Meghan Markle, Lillibet, was born earlier this summer.
Beatrice also became an aunt earlier this year when sister Eugenie gave birth to her first child with Jack Brooksbank this February.
They named their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
Is the royal baby a boy or a girl?
Eager royal fans have been debating whether or not the Princess is expecting a baby boy or a baby girl this Autumn.
Despite speculation, the baby's gender has not yet been confirmed, but it is unlikely to be announced before the birth.
The royal baby – be it a boy or girl – will undoubtedly have a forever friend in Princess Eugenie's son August, if the sisters' relationship is anything to go by.
With only a year and a half between them, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have always been like two peas in a pod, with Eugenie – the only royal who has a personal Instagram – sharing regular posts in adoration of her older sister.
On August 9, Eugenie delighted fans by posting a series of gorgeous childhood photos of Beatrice to mark her sister's 33rd.
It included shots of the duo when they were children at a baseball game, swimming with dolphins and holding hands as they wore matching white dresses.
The snaps then progressed to more recent images of Beatrice, including pictures of her hugging her sister in a fond embrace.
Eugenie's sweet caption read: Happy Birthday to my big sissy… BeaBea you are sensational and I have loved every minute watching you be brave and true…
"And now a mummy to be 🙂 #iloveyou."
Eugenie makes no secret of her closeness to her female relatives, revealing in an interview with The Telegraph in 2008: "Mummy, Bea and I call ourselves 'The Tripod', they are my best friends in the world."
They were both each other's maid of honours at their weddings and are regularly spotted out and about together at events.
Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary was born on 8 August 1988 at the Portland Hospital in London, but the Duke and Duchess of York did not announce her name until almost two weeks after her birth.
