Womans horror after claiming TOWIE restaurant refused to serve vegan pal

    A woman was mortified after claiming her pal was turned away from a popular restaurant for refusing to serve vegan food.

    Annie-Beth Steadman and her friend wanted to head to "fancy" restaurant Sheesh, in Chigwell, Essex after coming back from a holiday.

    Explaining their previous dining experiences, they thought it would be best to ring up and check if it would be alright to get multiple side dishes rather than a main dish.

    The 27-year-old said: "My friend wants to come to the restaurant and she's vegan and there isn't a dish on the main menu that she can order so we called up and asked if it would be okay to just order sides.

    "Because she's been before and that wasn't allowed."

    The dining spot in Essex gained its fame thanks to frequent visits by celebrities like boxing champion Tyson Fury, Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu as well as TOWIE stars.

    "The lady on the phone said 'I don't even know why vegans want to come to our restaurant anyway'," she continued.

    "Sheesh is just one of the places that is fancy, celebrities go there. People don't go there just for food, people go there for the vibe as well.

    "I'm just thinking, like, we're in 2023 and being a vegan isn't weird and we are just asking a question and fair enough if that's your policy, but the response…

    "I just can't believe that a restaurant so well-known would just be so rude like that.

    "I don't know if I'm being over the top, I just wanted to go but now I don't want."

    Viewers agreed with Annie-Beth and said the restaurant is "overeated".
