Christina Aguilera kicked off her Las Vegas residency, The Xperience, at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Friday night — and boy was it well received!!

For one, Demi Lovato attended the first show, and could not stop fangirling over the Genie In a Bottle singer.

The 26-year-old documented her entire evening on Instagram Story — she was flown into Sin City by Caesar’s Palace, screamed her face off during the performance, and even had a tender moment with Xtina backstage following the song and dance.

The Confident singer shared along with the (above) image:

“The f**king queen herself. A PERFECT, perfect show.. couldn’t believe it was opening night because it was so smooth, flawless and sounded incredible. I was entertained the entire time and was so bummed when it was over until I was reunited with this beauty. I’m so so happy I got to hug you @xtina, haven’t seen you in concert since I was 14 and I can’t believe how much life has changed since then. Honored to call you a friend 💗 keep it up queen. “Let’s not forget: the Latin album is coming!”

Check out some performance highlights from opening weekend (below)!

This Moment

She shared before singing:

“This song has always been such a gigantic part of my history and my life, going from Mickey Mouse Club to the Mulan soundtrack, that’s what really kicked it off. This aligns with the message of tonight. We all wear a mask in some way — for our kids, for our jobs, for our families, for other people in general. When we go home, we get to take that mask off and look in the mirror and be who we really need to be at the end of a long day. Tonight I encourage you to take off your mask or put one on, feel free.”

Xtina has more shows to go, though we already see a residency extension in her future if the buzz keeps up. The over 90-minute spectacle is truly a feast of nostalgia and glam!

Are you heading to Vegas to catch Xtina in all her glory?? SOUND OFF with your thoughts in the comments (below)!

Unseen letters by author Beatrix Potter go on sale for £5,000

Previously unseen letters penned by Peter Rabbit author Beatrix Potter as she praised her friend’s baking skills and blasts land girls for earning £11 a fortnight go on sale for £5,000

  • Three letters dating back to 1935 have gone on sale for an estimated £5,000
  • She praises a neighbour’s cake, and talks about gardening during the war
  • She also criticised the amount she was having to pay a girl in the land army

Three fascinating previously unseen letters penned by the celebrated children’s author Beatrix Potter have come to light.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit writer, who was also a livestock farmer, discusses cakes, gardening and her forthright views on women’s pay in the war.

Expressing views unlikely to endear herself with today’s feminists, she states the amount forestry girls were getting paid was ‘absurd’ and ‘upsetting’ to the men of the community.

The correspondence and unpublished snaps of Potter in her garden are being sold by a descendant with 1818 Auctioneers, of Milnthorpe, Cumbria.

The first letter, dated 1935, was sent by Potter to her friend Maggie Watson, who owned the tearooms in a neighbouring village. In it, she compliments her on her cake, describing it in rich language befitting of a Great British Bake Off judge

They are tipped to sell for £5,000.

The first letter, dated 1935, was sent by Potter to her friend Maggie Watson, who owned the tearooms in a neighbouring village.

In it, she compliments her on her cake, describing it in rich language befitting of a Great British Bake Off judge.

The correspondence and unpublished snaps of Potter in her garden are being sold by a descendant

She writes: ‘You have surpassed yourself! We never expected to see such a Hawkshead cake again. The crisp delicacy of the pastry and succulence of the syrup.

‘You did not leave your skill behind when you moved to another house.’

Another letter, penned by Potter in 1940, thanks Maggie’s sister Sissy Watson, who taught at the village school, for the gift of five primula roots.

The green-fingered author, who owned Hill Top Farm near Sawrey, says she will plant them in a raised bed over rubble.

The final letter in the sale, dated July 4, 1942, is also addressed to Sissy.

In it, she tells of having recruited a land girl to help her on her farm, which was turned over to the Government for its Dig For Victory campaign.

She observes that ‘a much better class’ was joining the land army, but that the amount she was having to pay her was ‘a lot for a small farmer to pay a beginner’.

Potter then turns her attention to the amount women doing forestry work were getting paid, adopting a highly critical tone.

Another letter, penned by Potter in 1940, thanks Maggie’s sister Sissy Watson, who taught at the village school, for the gift of five primula roots, saying she will plant them in a raised bed over rubble

She writes: ‘The wages paid to the forestry girls are most absurd. The woman doing piece work is said to be receiving £11 a fortnight.

‘It is upsetting the men to hear of such a wage.’

Later in the letter, she acknowledges that she needed help with the farming as she is getting ‘slow’ and ‘tired’.

Her words were prescient as she passed away the following year aged 77.

David Brookes, auctioneer at 1818 Auctioneers, said: ‘It is interesting to get an insight into the life of this remarkable woman and a privilege to bring previously unknown items into the public domain.

‘I particularly like the 1935 letter, referring to the crisp delicacy of the pastry and the succulence of the syrup, on a cake.

The final letter in the sale, dated July 4, 1942, is also addressed to Sissy, in which she tells of having recruited a land girl to help her on her farm

‘It is very ‘Bake Off’ and so current 76 years after her death.’

Liz Hunter-MacFarlane, house and collections Manager for the National Trust at Hill Top Farm, said Potter was a ‘prolific’ letter writer with ‘strong opinions’ on any matters relating to land and agriculture, as well as women’s wages.

She said: ‘Beatrix Potter was a prolific writer and her letters provide an insight into her views on various different issues.

‘She certainly had some strong opinions on farming and agriculture, having bought her first property in the Lake District in 1905.

‘She kept buying farms until she amassed almost 4,000 acres by the end of her life.

‘She was a very independent women who was very wealthy from the royalties from the books and licensing agreements.’

Potter’s most famous book, The Tale of Petter Rabbit (1902), has been translated into 36 languages and sold 45 million copies.

After her death in 1943, she left her 14 farms and 4,000 acres of land to the National Trust on the condition her favourite home, Hill Top at Sawrey, was opened to the public and left unchanged.

The sale takes place on June 3.

B-52, aircraft carrier in Mideast over Iran conduct exercise

The U.S. military says a B-52 bomber and an aircraft carrier dispatched to the Mideast over a perceived threat from Iran have conducted a joint exercise together in the Arabian Sea.

The Air Force said in a statement Sunday that the exercise saw F/A-18 Super Hornets, MH-60 Sea Hawk helicopters and E-2D Growlers from the USS Abraham Lincoln fly with the B-52 bomber.

The Air Force says the aircraft also “simulated strike operations” in the exercise, which took place on Saturday.

The White House dispatched the Lincoln and its strike force to the Mideast in May over an Iranian threat it did not describe at the time.

The U.S. pulled out of Iran’s nuclear deal a year ago. Since then, relations have grown tense as America imposes ever-tougher sanctions on Tehran.

Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Think Donald Trump Is 'Super Creepy'

Donald Trump is traveling to England for a state visit this week and it seems that some of the royal family aren’t so thrilled about the U.S. president. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for example, reportedly think he’s “super creepy” and, whether or not that’s true, there is certainly evidence to support that they might not be his biggest fans.

Trump made disgusting comments aboutPrincess Diana

One of the biggest reasons Prince Harry and Markle have a distaste for the president is Trump’s truly creepy comments about Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. In a 1997 interview with Howard Stern, Trump claimed that he could have “nailed her,” explaining, “I think I could have. She was actually really beautiful. I thought she was supermodel beautiful.”

He added, “She had times when she didn’tlook great and she had times when she looked better than anyone in the world. But she had the height, she had magnificent skin, she was a great beauty.”

During a discussion on the Royal Box, commentator Daisy McAndrew noted, “Donald Trump absolutely bombarded Princess Diana with flowers and invitations to meet. So there is a reason for Harry to think he’s a super creep.”

Markle’s ‘super creepy’ experience with Trump

Trump also reportedly was “super creepy” to the women who worked on the show Deal or No Deal, according to McAndrew.

Markle reportedly rejected an invite to go out with Trump when she was a briefcase girl, as McAndrew noted: “Apparently when she was working on Deal or No Deal as the briefcase girl, so we’re talking a long time ago now, Donald Trump came on to publicize The Apprentice. And one of her fellow briefcase girls said that he was super creepy and started inviting all the briefcase girls out and that Meghan thought he was a creep and decided not to go.”

McAndrew admitted, “Now, it could well bea totally made-up story and I’m not saying that I know it’s true. But it adds abit of color.”

Trump called Meghan Markle ‘nasty’

As if that wasn’t enough to turn off Prince Harry and Markle, the president called the duchess “nasty” in a recent interview with The Sun newspaper. The interviewer asked if he was aware of the comments Markle made about him during the 2016 election, calling him “misogynistic” and “divisive.”

The interviewer asked: “Meghan who is nowDuchess of Sussex… she can’t make it because she has got maternity leave. Areyou sorry not to see her because she wasn’t so nice about you during thecampaign. I don’t know if you saw that.”

He responded, “I didn’t know that. No. Ididn’t know that. No, I hope she’s OK.”

When the interviewer added that Markle“said she would move to Canada if you got elected,” Trump responded, “A lot ofpeople are moving here. So, what can I say? No, I didn’t know that she wasnasty.”

Trump denies calling Meghan Markle ‘nasty’

Interestingly enough, as Trump’s quoteabout Markle being “nasty” made the rounds, the Trump 2020 campaign Twitteraccount attempted to clarify his remarks. The “Official Trump War Room” Twitteraccount went on the attack, tweeting: “Fake News CNN is at it again, falselyclaiming President Trump called Meghan Markle ‘nasty.’ Here is what he actuallysaid. Listen for yourself!”

The captioned video of Trump’s interview with The Sun didn’t really help make their case, however, as he’s still heard calling her “nasty” in the audio.

Trump took to Twitter to defend himself, noting, ”I never called Meghan Markle ‘nasty.’ Made up by the Fake News Media, and they got caught cold! Will @CNN, @nytimes and others apologize? Doubt it!”

Kevin Pietersen backs England’s Joffra Archer for the Ashes

Joffra Archer should join James Anderson and Stuart Broad in England’s bowling line-up for this summer’s Ashes, according to Kevin Pietersen.

The former England Test captain praised the impact Archer has made in his short international career so far, including his impressive performance in the victory against South Africa in the World Cup opener last week.

Pietersen believes Archer, who he describes as a “special talent”, provides an added dimension to England, who face Pakistan at Trent Bridge on Monday, ahead of a busy summer of cricket.

England vs Pakistan

June 3, 2019, 10:00am

Live on

Asked whether Archer can lead England to World Cup glory, Pietersen told Sky Sports News: “Absolutely. They want to keep him fit.

“He will be hungry for success. Having faced him, having played with him in Australia in the Big Bash he is something to be looked after just because of the pace and bounce he has the ability to take wickets. He had that ability to take wickets all the way throughout the innings.

“You have got to look after those guys. He is a special, special talent. I am telling you now it should be an Anderson, Broad and Joffra Archer combination come the first Test matches of the Ashes.”

Pietersen says Archer “ticks every single box” for England with his ability to take wickets throughout the innings, particularly when during the middle overs of their World Cup campaign.

“The addition of Joffra Archer to that setup gives England the capabilities to take wickets from overs 1 to 50.

“Where England have struggled is with the new ball. Occasionally they might get a couple of wickets with the new ball and then try and back Rashid to get wickets.

“If Rashid doesn’t get any wickets in the middle overs then they struggle in the middle overs. But their scoring with the bat is truly phenomenal.

“Archer who can knock over the top order of every single team. He can then come in the middle of the innings and get a couple of wickets from short pitched deliveries and then at the death he is a fantastic bowler.

“Their batting is phenomenal, their fielding is world class and their bowling has just gone up to phenomenal too.”

‘Warner will be a big problem for England’

David Warner scored an unbeaten 89 in Australia’s seven-wicket victory over Afghanistan on Saturday on his official international return.

The match at Bristol came fifteen months on from the ball-tampering affair in South Africa and Pietersen expects the opener to prove a serious challenge to England’s bowling this summer.

“This whole summer for England, Warner is going to be a big problem,” Pietersen said.

“I interviewed him in India after a couple of his [IPL] innings’ and he just said to me, ‘I have had enough, I just want to score runs’. He was out of the game for such a long time. All he wants to do is score runs.

  • Warner fires Australia to winning start
  • Warner: It’s good to be back

“Man of the match yesterday. He left the IPL three quarters of the way through – top run scorer. Warner is going to be a problem for England.

“The more [the supporters] boo him, and I know it having been on the receiving end, the more [as a player] you want to capitalise and score runs.

“So if I was the English crowds – I know they probably can’t help themselves come 4-5 o’clock in the afternoon – you have got to leave players like that alone. Because their passion, their drive and intensity in their game takes them to a new level.

Will Khloe Kardashian One Day Share Her Thoughts On Lamar Odom's Memoir?

It’s been a few days since Lamar Odom released his brand new memoir, Darkness to Light, and described some unexpected details about his marriage and divorce to Khloe Kardashian.

Though their relationship was extremely publicized throughout the nine years they were together, there were some things the NBA star revealed about their marriage that still has many of us shocked.

Many of us can appreciate the fact that Lamar Odom is bringing his dark experiences to light, but how does Khloe feel about the memoir.

Khloe has yet to publically comment on Lamar’s claims

Many of us already know that the main reason for Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s split was due to his excessive drug use and infidelity.

Though Khloe and Lamar have maintained a friendly relationship, the NBA star just recently revealed some unexpected details surrounding their marriage.

In his memoir Darkness To Light, Lamar Odom gets brutally frank about his marriage and divorce. He also shares two shocking stories that many of us wouldn’t expect to include Khloe Kardashian.

In the first story, Lamar opens up about the “lowest point” in his marriage to Kardashian, which was an incident where he “threatened to kill” Khloe while he was high on cocaine and ecstacy.

In his book, Odom recalled the exact moment Khloe walked in on him getting high with his friends.

“Khloé came down and knocked on the door. I opened it suddenly and grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders, which frightened her. ‘What the fuck are you doing?’ I screamed, out of my mind. I said: ‘You trying to embarrass me in front of my friends? I’ll fucking kill you! You don’t know what I’m capable of.’”

He went on to call that moment the “most regrettable of [his] life”.

In his second passage, Lamar went on to describe the moment Khloe found him in a hotel room with another woman and claimed that she went on a rampage.

“She opened the door and pounced on the first girl she saw. Khloé’s beating the shit out one of the girls who tried to protest. She’s dropping vicious blows all over the top of this girl’s head,” he recalled.

Khloe has no hard feelings toward Lamar

While those who have read Lamar Odom’s book are shocked by his claims, many have been hoping Khloe Kardashian would share what she thought about his stories.

Even though she has not publicly comment, Lamar revealed that Kardashian had reached out to him privately about the book.

While speaking with Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM radio show, Odom revealed that Khloe had texted him a day after his book release and brought up the hotel room incident.

“She sent me a text yesterday. She good, she talked about one of the stories I told in the book. About her coming to the hotel and putting her hands on the girl. She said she didn’t even think I remembered that story,” he said.

Despite everything Lamar Odom revealed in his book, Khloe Kardashian is still on good terms with him and they remain “friendly”.

Though they have remained friendly, sources close to Khloe Kardashian reveal that she’s not too happy about the book.

According to Radar Online, Khloe is worried that Lamar’s memoir will taint her image and that she is a little hurt he would publicize their private life after all of the things she’s done for him in the past.

“She is extremely worried about its release and what it will do to her image,” a source said.“She really cannot believe that Lamar would stoop this low and that he would go and bash her after everything she did for him.”

Though she hasn’t publicly commented, many are certain Khloe Kardashian recent Instagram Stories post might have expressed her feelings toward Lamar and his book.

“Your loyalty might have kept you in some situations that common sense should’ve talked you out of,” read a now-deleted cryptic message shared on Kardashian’s Instagram Stories on May 31. “That’s just the kind of person you are.”

Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan Pay Tribute to Princess Diana in LGBTQ Post

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan shared a photo of his late mother, Princess Diana, in a post about their support of LGBTQ rights for Pride Month.

The collage of nine photos showed the new parents in one pic, artwork by Ruben Guadalupe Marquez, and a pic of the princess — who died at the age of 36 in a car crash in August 1997 — smiling alongside an AIDS patient one year before her death.

“For the month of June we ‘proudly’ shine a light on PRIDE,” Harry and Meghan wrote in a caption on their Sussex Royal Instagram account. “This month we pay tribute to the accounts supporting the LGBTQ+ community – those young and old, their families and friends, accounts that reflect on the past and are hopeful for a deservedly more inclusive future,” the message continued. “We stand with you and support you.

Adding a rainbow emoji, they continued, “Because it’s very simple: love is love.”

Harry’s late mother helped change attitudes towards HIV and AIDS in 1987 by attending the opening of the UK’s first specially built unit at London Middlesex Hospital for those with the virus.

As the world’s media documented the moment, Diana shook hands with a man who had the illness. She didn’t wear gloves in order to dispel the notion that HIV and AIDS was transmitted by touch.

“If a royal was allowed to go in, shake a patient’s hands, somebody at the bus stop or the supermarket could do the same,” a nurse, who was there when Diana visited, told the BBC.

Harry, 34, has continued his mother’s work on behalf of those with the virus, founding the Sentebale charity with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help children and young people living with HIV in the south African country.

In 2017, Harry gave a heartfelt speech paying tribute to his mother’s efforts as she received a posthumous honor for her groundbreaking work.

“I often wonder about what she would be doing to continue the fight against HIV and AIDS if she were still with us today,” he told the audience.

“I believe that she would be telling everyone across society — not just those most at risk — that with effective treatment being free and available in the UK, that we must all embrace regular testing. Both for our own sake and for those that we love.”

“She would be demanding that same access to treatment and testing for young people in Africa and across the world,” he continued. “She would, of course, be standing alongside those who are living openly as healthy, happy and HIV-positive. [My brother] William and I are incredibly proud of what our mother achieved.”

Referencing the iconic photograph of Diana, Harry added, “She knew that AIDS was one of the things that many wanted to ignore and seemed like a hopeless challenge. She knew that the misunderstanding of this relatively new disease was creating a dangerous situation when mixed with homophobia.”

“So when, that April, she took the hand of a 32-year-old man with HIV, in front of the cameras, she knew exactly what she was doing. She was using her position as Princess of Wales — the most famous woman in the world — to challenge everyone to educate themselves, to find their compassion and to reach out to those who need help instead of pushing them away.”

Prince Harry is loving being a dad!

Nacho Figueras, the professional polo player and pal to the royal dad, shared Harry couldn’t be happier since welcoming his first child, son Archie, with Meghan Markle on May 6.

“He seems to be really, really happy so I’m very happy and excited for him, Figueras told PEOPLE at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Liberty State Park in New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.

Figueras, who recently traveled to Windsor with his wife Delfina Blaquier to meet little Archie, also revealed the royal’s paternal inclinations.

“I’ve been saying this for a long time, he’s a person that loves children,” Figueras said. “I’ve seen him interact with children for a very long time in all these things that we do in Africa so I’m not surprised he’s an amazing father.”

And though Archie is only 3 weeks old, Figueras said the prospects of Harry’s son becoming a polo player appear to be high.

“His grandfather played, his great grandfather played and his father played and so I would love for him to do it,” he shared.

Figueras’ comments about Harry’s life as a dad come a week after he shared a touching tribute to the royal, telling fans and followers that he is “honored to be your friend.”

“The world thinks they know everything about this man,” the Argentine polo player wrote on Instagram, adding that he has “been fortunate enough to spend enough time over the years to learn and understand the man he really is.”

Figueras added, “I see him do that over and over again and it is truly inspiring. I am honored to be your friend and let’s keep fighting because if we all fight together love always wins.”

He and Harry recently participated in a polo match for Harry’s African kids’ charity, Sentebale, where Figueras told PEOPLE that his pal “seems to be very happy” as a new dad, adding that the royal “is the kind of father I always imagined he would be.”

“He has always had a great love for children and a great understanding of them. I noticed that becoming a father has influenced him and his dedication and love for the project is now stronger than ever,” he said.

The Hidden Good-Luck Charm Sewn Into the Queen's Coronation Gown – and 4 Other Secrets!

God save the Queen! Those were the shouts heard from inside Westminster Abbey on June 2, 1953, when Queen Elizabeth II took the Coronation Oath and officially became the ruling monarch of the U.K and the Commonwealth.

Although Elizabeth ascended the throne as a young 25-year-old princess on February 6, 1952, immediately on hearing of the death of her father, King George VI, it wasn’t until 16 months later on June 2, 1953, that she was crowned, such was the extent of the planning needed. Her first years as Queen are featured in the first season of Netflix’s hit series, The Crown.

Read on for five surprising facts on the 65th anniversary of the Queen’s historic day:

1. It Was the First Televised Coronation

Tech-savvy even back then, Princess Elizabeth was determined to have the ceremony broadcast (much to the disapproval of Sir Winston Churchill). It would be the first coronation to be televised (except for the anointing and the communion) and was broadcast in 44 languages. An estimated 20 million people gathered round their television screens (or those of their neighbors) to catch a glimpse of the pomp and ceremony of the momentous occasion. After the event, sales of televisions rocketed.

2. Her Gown Had a Hidden Good-Luck Charm

Trusted royal couturier Sir Norman Hartnell worked closely with Elizabeth to create a gown in the finest white duchess satin, richly embroidered with national and Commonwealth floral emblems in gold and silver thread. Encrusted with seed pearls, sequins and crystals, the designer added a secret detail for extra luck. Unknown to the Queen, Hartnell included an extra four-leaf shamrock on the left side of the skirt, which was positioned perfectly so that Her Majesty’s hand would rest on it during the ceremony.

3. Top-Secret Staff Were Recruited

There was a shortage of professional coachmen to help transport dignitaries to Westminster Abbey in horse drawn carriages, so millionaire businessmen and country squires offered their services – many dressing up as servants to help take people to the ceremony.

4. Footage Was Flown Across the Atlantic in Military Jets

To make the broadcast available the same day, Royal Air Force bomber jets known as Canberras flew film footage across the Atlantic so that the Canadian Broadcast Company could air it. It was the first non-stop transatlantic flight between the United Kingdom and Canada, and landed in Labrador.

5. The Romance!

Prince Philip was the first person to pay homage to the Queen after the Archbishop of Canterbury. After being lifted on her throne, her husband said, “I Philip, do become your liege man of life and limb, and of earthly worship; and faith and truth I will bear unto you, to live and die, against all manner of folks. So help me God.” He then kissed her crown and her left cheek.
