CENK TOSUN has joined Crystal Palace on a six-month loan deal with the option to make it permanent for £17million next summer.
But the striker might be in for an awkward time after claiming he was “glad” when a transfer to Selhurst Park collapsed over two years ago.
Tosun was approached by the Eagles in the summer of 2017 but they failed to strike a deal with Besiktas, and the 28-year-old stayed in Turkey for six more months before making the switch to Merseyside.
But in 2018, the forward told TRT Sport that he was pleased the Palace deal didn’t go through, because it allowed him to eventually join the “bigger” team in Everton.
JURGEN KLOPP has lifted the lid on Rhian Brewster's loan move to Swansea.
The Liverpool boss said: “They are kids but they don't behave like kids on the pitch. They are humble enough to learn from world-class players.
“So we send some (Brewster) to learn from other clubs. Outstanding training sessions here so we make the decisions person by person. For Rhian, it's right.
“Swansea asked in the summer but it was not the right moment. He was fresh from a long-term injury, but now it is a good move for Rhian.”
CARLO ANCELOTTI claimed rebuilding his Everton squad is similar to the project he faced at Paris Saint-Germain.
And SunSport exclusively revealed that the Italian will begin his revolution by signing a new goalkeeper to replace Jordan Pickford, with Alex Meret emerging as a possible option.
Ancelotti is also keen to strengthen his team across all areas of the pitch, and has lined up a shock swoop for former Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan – alongside Bologna star Riccardo Orsolini.
Here's how the Toffees could line-up in February…
BREAKING: INTER MILAN officials have held talks with Olivier Giroud's agents and agreed terms.
Sky Italy claim the Chelsea striker has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract to join the Italian side.
However, Antonio Conte's Inter have yet to agree a deal with the Blues, who want between £6.8m and £8.5m for the 33-year-old.
The Serie A side however do not want to spend more than £4.3m on Giroud, who has also had offers from Lyon and Aston Villa.
