And they'll need to act quickly if they want to bring former Blue Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge.

  • LIVERPOOL'S signing of Takumi Minamino has significantly decreased the likelihood of the Reds maintaining their interest in Timo Werner.

Thursday morning saw Jurgen Klopp's side officially announce the arrival of RB Salzburg winger Minamino and it is thought there is now little room left for another incoming attacker in January.

RB Leipzig forward Werner has been continually linked with a move to the Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as Bayern Munich.

Now the path is clearing for Frank Lampard to bolster his attack with the Blues desperate to make up for lost time.

A FIFA transfer ban prevented Chelsea from making signings in the summer but was recently cut short on appeal, enabling January activity.

Discussing the speculation on the Transfer Talk podcast, Bundesliga journalist Raphael Honigstein believes Liverpool's jigsaw is now complete with Minamino the ideal foil for their front three.

He stated: “I was probably expecting Liverpool to make a move for Timo Werner.

“He could have been the fourth guy, but it didn't happen. Minamino is a lot cheaper but perhaps also has more value in terms of the improvement and the places he can go.”

  • CHELSEA players tucked into a turkey dinner on Thursday as part of their build-up to facing Tottenham.

Frank Lampard and his staff have been chewing over how to take on Jose Mourinho's side on Sunday evening.

On a bitter run of four defeats in five in the Premier League, the Blues have been left feeling queasy as Spurs munch into their top-four deficit.

But the squad sprouted up for their Christmas dinner with less than a week to go until the big day.

Callum Hudson-Odoi smiled for the camera as he served up his lunch.

Jorginho and Christian Pulisic also shared a joke with Frank Lampard snapped in casual gear at the Cobham canteen.

  • MICHAEL OWEN has tipped Tottenham to beat Chelsea this weekend.

Spurs can leapfrog the Blues in the table with a win and move into the top four.

Speaking to Bet Victor, he said: “The last Premier League game before Christmas is a cracking London derby with Frank Lampard going head-to-head with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge for the first time.

“It is worth noting, however, that Lampard’s Derby County won a League Cup tie at Old Trafford on penalties last September when Mourinho was manager of Manchester United.

“Chelsea have lost four of their last five in the league while Spurs have won three of their last four and I think it will be the hosts who take maximum points from what promises to be an entertaining game between these two great rivals.”

  • BORUSSIA DORTMUND have placed a whopping £127million price tag on Jadon Sancho’s head.

The 19-year-old England winger scored for the seventh consecutive game last night as the German side drew 3-3 with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

His latest strike will only further intensify the interest of Man City, United and Chelsea in signing the teenager.

However, that has led to ex-Norway international and now TV journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft to claim Dortmund have valued him at £127m for potential buyers.

The former Middlesbrough and Swindon Premier League star broke the news via Twitter.

Fjortoft says a switch to Liverpool is “still on” but it has gone a bit colder “after Dortmund has been let it known that they want 127 million pounds for the player”.

  • TAMMY ABRAHAM took to Twitter to wish teammate Fikayo Tomori a happy birthday.
