Arsenal transfer blow as Andre Onana 'agrees terms with Lyon' – but Ajax could scupper deal
ARSENAL have suffered a transfer blow in their pursuit of Ajax keeper Andre Onana as Lyon have agreed personal terms with him, according to reports.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper has been monitored by the Gunners for some time following his performances in the Eredivisie and Champions League.
But Ligue 1 side Lyon appear to have got their first, although there is still no agreement between the two clubs.
Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano said: "André Onana reached an agreement on personal terms with Olympique Lyon, confirmed – but Ajax and OL board have still no agreement.
"Talks on, Bosz is pushing.
"#OL#Ajax Inter are interested in signing Onana only as free agent in June 2022, if he’ll stay at Ajax this season."
Onana has played 204 times for Ajax and was a part of the team who reached the Champions League semi-finals before being knocked out by Tottenham.
He has also won the Eredivisie title in two out of the past three seasons and finished runners-up in the Europa League in the 2016-17 campaign when Manchester United lifted the trophy.
At international level, Onana has been capped 18 times by Cameroon.

The 25-year-old was banned for 12 months in February for taking banned substance Furosemide.
But that suspension was reduced to nine months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
He can now return to club football from November, but it could end up costing Arsenal as they were not able to secure him earlier.
Onana, 25, has claimed he accidentally took one of his wife's pills while feeling unwell, believing it to be a 'simple aspirin'.
