Aston Villa flop Pierluigi Gollini in line for second Premier shot Tottenham and Wolves eye transfer for Atalanta No1

TOTTENHAM and Wolves could offer Aston Villa flop Pierluigi Gollini a route back into the Premier League this summer.

Both Prem sides have reportedly made offers to Atalanta for the £17million keeper, according to Sports Witness.

Despite Gollini's safe pair of hands leading them to a third placed finish in the Serie A last season, with 10 clean sheets in 25 starts, Atalanta have replaced him with ex-Udinese stopper Juan Musso.

Gian Piero Gasperini wants to revamp his team ahead of the new season and is willing to sacrifice the 26-year-old to cover the cost.

Spurs are on the prowl for a new stopper following the exit of Paulo Gazzaniga.

Gazzaniga was No2 behind Hugo Lloris as he clocked up 37 appearances in his first three seasons.

But the arrival of Joe Hart last summer saw Gazzaniga drop to third choice, before he secured a January loan move to Spanish minnows Elche.

The North London side could also face competition from former boss Jose Mourinho who is also reportedly interested in bringing Gollini to Roma.

It would be Gollini's second stint in England if his proposed switch materialises.

He spent three years as a youth and reserve team goalie with Manchester United in 2012.

Gollini went on to join Verona before heading back the the Prem with Aston Villa in 2016 for £4.1m.

But his time at Villa Park was short-lived and he managed just 20 appearances then joined Atalanta in 2018.
