Boxing fans warned to wrap up warm for Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora for freezing outdoor December fight | The Sun

BOXING fans have been warned to wrap up warm if they are attending Tyson Fury’s next fight.

After the collapse in talks over a Battle of Britain clash with Anthony Joshua, which won the Gypsy King £10,000 after a bet with Frank Warren, Fury will now face Derek Chisora instead on December 3 at Tottenham in a trilogy clash.

Tickets for the bout will go on sale tomorrow – but Tottenham have issued a warning to anyone planning on attending on what could be a freezing winter night.

In their official announcement confirming the news, they wrote: “Please note, this will be an open-air event with a likelihood of winter conditions at the time of year it is taking place.

“Ticket purchasers are strongly advised to wear appropriate clothing on the night as all seating within the stadium is outdoor.”

The Manchester United-supporting-potential-Morecambe-owner will be joined at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium by fellow heavyweight Daniel Dubois who is competing on the undercard.

Fury vs Chisora 3 will be the second boxing event to take place at Tottenham's shiny £1bn stadium.

The 62,850-seater arena was the setting for Anthony Joshua's first defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021.

Booking the fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium means that it will take place outdoors – despite potentially baltic December conditions.

The ring will be under cover, but fans seated on the pitch could be open to the elements.

The weather in London on December 3 last year peaked at 9 degrees in the day, dropping to 6 degrees in the evening.

When Frank Bruno fought Joe Bugner at the old White Hart Lane in October 1987, fighters wrapped themselves in blankets between rounds.

Not too many fans will be bowled over by Fury's opponent, considering how comfortably the Gypsy King won his first two clashes with Chisora.

But after Joshua refused the fight and Usyk ruled himself out with injury, the 6ft 9in Morecambe giant was short of options.

He announced the show on social media on Thursday morning with a picture of the fight card.

And he added: “LET’S HAVE IT THEN DEL BOY!!!! SEE YOU DECEMBER 3RD LONDON! @SpursOfficial @DerekWarChisora.”

Fury has already beaten Chisora twice before.

He claimed a comfortable unanimous decision victory in 2011, before forcing Del Boy to retire on his stool in the 10th round of their rematch three years later.
